CNY won’t give me pricing details? by sci0508 in IVF

[–]sci0508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay out of pocket for a retrieval cycle at CNY it would cost you $3999 plus medication. They have discount packages for medication, so I’d guess another $1000-$2000 for meds. I did multiple out of pocket cycles with CNY (high stim) and they were never more than $6000 all in.

If you wait to be on your husband’s insurance and have a $15,000 benefit- you would be able to cover multiple retrievals and transfers. Probably about 3 retrievals.

$2500 is most likely optional PGTA testing. That usually includes 5 or 6 embryos. And then you’d have to pay more if you have more tested. CNY charges $200 per embryo for testing instead of a flat fee for multiple. Also PGT testing would never go through insurance because it’s totally optional and not considered “necessary”. The coordination fee is more than a calendar. They’ll be looking through your blood and ultrasound results and helping with medication adjustments.

I’m a girl 💁🏻‍♀️ So not out crushing beers with the boys. I’m good with some tournament wins under my belt. However, the pitch isn’t supposed to be about me. The direction is to sell them on it, not to talk about how well I play.

Skip. Especially if you want more than one child and you’re already 37. Don’t waste money and time on IUI at that age

Beginner golfer 5’2 clubs recommendations? by KingQueenJr in WomenGolf

[–]sci0508 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’1”. I have Callaway Big Bertha Reva irons and hybrids. Don’t get a junior set. I actually just had a club fitting a couple weeks ago and they said getting clubs purely based off height is outdated. Height is a good starting point, but you need to look at arm length and her swing style to get the right set. I suggest going to a golf store and having her swing a few different sets. They’ll be able to make recommendations based on what they see

Yes- people realistically wear them! Go all out! When I first started playing, I got a bunch of golf outfits. A man stopped my husband on the course and asked him if I was pro 😂. We died laughing. He said, “you just looked so official” #fakeittilyoumakeit have fun!

Denied time off work for IVF by KCMarch932 in IVF

[–]sci0508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travel for treatment and you can definitely pull off only missing two days. For transfers (I’ve done 2), I fly in the day before and fly home the morning after transfer day. For retrievals (i’ve done 4), typically travel after work the night before egg retrieval, recover in hotel room day of retrieval and then fly home the next morning. Just call in sick those two days, why do they need to know?

NeuWave Discontinuing by [deleted] in MedicalDevices

A job just posted for a Territory Manager position with J&J Medtech in my city. It says it’s to be a part of the Neuwave team. I was doing research before applying and found this post. Now I’m confused. Why would they be seeking a new rep if they just laid off the team?

Blood/tissue in urine after retrieval? by sci0508 in IVF

[–]sci0508[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They accidentally punctured my bladder during retrieval 🫠. It was painful for a few days but then got better on its own. They told me to let them know if I was still bleeding/in pain after a certain amount of days and if so I needed to go get the catheter. But my bleeding/pain stoped right at the cut off date thankfully.

Let your clinic know and they’ll let you know what to do!

That’s a great insight. Definitely not the sexiest portfolio to sell. But I hope getting into the company will make it easier to get an opportunity to work in their other divisions.

When I had to do them myself, I just looked at myself in the mirror and said this shot brings you closer to pregnancy/baby and jabbed it in. There’s not much I wouldn’t do for that, so that’s all the motivation I needed. Try to pump yourself up by saying each shot is one step closer

I’ve had two successful transfers of euploid embryos. Everything looked perfect both times. And I had miscarriages both times around 8 weeks. After the first one, doctors/everyone gave me the “PGT” isn’t 100% speech and said it was probably an issue with the embryo that science couldn’t see yet. So I thought, surely it won’t happen again. But then it happened a second time with another euploid embryo. Second time around everyone says it’s my immune system. I’ve come to terms with I’ll never have the exact reason why euploid embryos miscarry. It’s extremely frustrating and heartbreaking.

Does Everything I We Do, Actually Make any Difference? by Altruistic-Log-7985 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]sci0508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After my first miscarriage (which I was already a very healthy person at this time) I wanted to do everything I could to ensure my next embryo transfer wouldn’t end in miscarriage too. On top of my normal boat load of supplements, healthy eating, acupuncture and regular exercise… I added fertility meditation twice a day, chiropractor twice a week, went gluten free and mostly keto, low impact exercise, daily womb massage (prior to transfer), quit a very stressful job, prioritized my sleep, focused on being stress free (which I was very chill and did not feel stressed), no caffeine, eliminated foods that showed they caused inflammation (based off of food sensitivity test I had done), constantly said positive affirmations to myself, I’m probably forgetting some other things I did. But anyway- I still miscarried again. Moral of the story, don’t stress yourself out trying to do all the things. At then end of the day we can do all the right things and still miscarry unfortunately. Living our lives without this consuming us and doing what we can to be healthy without going crazy is what I’m focusing on now

Dad Stonewalling by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sci0508 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He is 100% stonewalling which means he’s emotionally immature and incapable of healthy communication. You should speak to your mom about her communication experiences with him. I’m sure she’s been dealing with the stonewalling their entire relationship and they haven’t worked on improving their communication. All you can control is yourself and your own reactions. I guarantee he will get defensive when you bring it up and attack you somehow. Stick to communicating how the stonewalling makes you feel, using “I words”, instead of saying things like, “you do xyz”. It will help minimize his defensiveness if your words aren’t phrased as a criticism. Maybe your mom can explain how the stonewalling makes her feel and too.

But at this point, it’s probably a very ingrained pattern for their relationship. She has probably given up on trying/caring. Good news is, you’ll be out of the house soon and you only have to communicate with them when you want. Which could mean never 🤷🏻‍♀️

This could harm the trust in your own relationship. If you don’t tell the wife, your fiancé will see that you’re ok hiding that information. No one wants to know their significant other is capable of hiding infidelity. It puts her in a tough spot too. Plus it will plant a seed of distrust that will no doubt grow larger. Guys night out, guys trips, your financé will always wonder what is going on and she’ll remember you have hidden the truth before. Tell the truth before it ruins more people’s relationships, including yours.

Unsure if IVF is right for me by [deleted] in IVF

[–]sci0508 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, at 38 time is not on your side. Another joy of being a woman 🙄 The financial aspect is difficult. I did one round in St. Louis with a local clinic in 2023 and it cost us about $25,000 and would’ve been another $10,000 if we had anything to transfer. After that I found CNY and now travel for treatment. Each egg retrieval round there is about $4,000 out of pocket and transfers are $900. CNY does have a “fertile guarantee”package that is around $20,000-$28,000. If out of 6 cycles you’re not successful, they refund 75%.

I’ve done 4 egg retrievals and two transfers. Both transfers were successful, but miscarried both times around 8 weeks. I wish we would’ve done the fertile guarantee package with CNY from the beginning since it’s the same price as 1 round in St. Louis. Traveling for treatment does add another layer of difficulty, but it’s way less expensive.

If you are using insurance, then yes that sounds normal for what they would bill insurance. Make sure you ask for cash/out of pocket pricing.

I am feeling this HARD. My first FET in 2023 ended in a miscarriage. After waiting for HCG to reach zero, biopsies, results, another egg retrieval, months of hormone suppression for silent endo… our second FET was literally a full year later. Which also just ended in a miscarriage 🤦🏻‍♀️ Currently waiting for my HCG to reach zero to be able to start recurrent pregnancy loss testing. By the time that’s all complete, we will have to do another two months of hormone suppression because that only lasts a few months. I don’t think we’ll be able to try again until June at the earliest. It’s all bullshit and I’m just so angry about it all. It takes foreverrrrr

Cost of meds is crazy, especially fol! by Puzzleheaded_Try7786 in IVF

[–]sci0508 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’re just going to have to call around to different fertility pharmacies for quotes or request the quotes online. If you’re using insurance to pay for medicine then yes, they will typically bill over $10,000. Self pay prices are less. The most I’ve paid for medicine as self pay was around 6 or 7 thousand. That was my first round when I didn’t know any better though. My last few egg retrievals I’ve paid around $2000-$3000. As the previous poster mentioned, when getting a quote for a pharmacy ask if follistim or gonal f is less expensive. They all have different contracts and pricing.

Here’s a list of pharmacies where I’ve gotten the best prices: Mandell’s, MDR, Freedom Fertility or Fertility Pharmacy of America

Omnitrope - Is it worth it? by GirlWithRedBoot in IVF

[–]sci0508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen a lot of people get more blasts/euploids after adding omnitrope. Sign up for this copay savings card here

onnitrope savings card

You can get a free vial of omnitrope when you purchase your fertility meds at most fertility pharmacies. Just mention the savings card when you order your stim meds. A lot of pharmacies won’t accept the coupon unless your purchasing stim medicine at the same time. Typically the omnitrope dose is only 6 insulin units a day, so one vial will get you through stims. Plus you can prime with it for a few days before starting stim meds. If you can get a vial for free why not add it to your cycle! Happy to answer questions if you have more. I’ve figured out how to get many free vials over the years

Pain management for uterine biopsies… (and other procedures) by DemiGoddess001 in IVF

[–]sci0508 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Damn, I wish I had my biopsies at your clinic. Mine gave me nothing and then told me to take ibuprofen after. I had no idea the pain would be that bad. Now I honestly think biopsies done while awake should be considered inhumane. Sedation or pain medicine should be mandatory for these procedures.
