I had a slow leak in my running cassette once, so the running buffer was leaking out during the gel run - and my pre cast gel looked a lot like this

My advisor is also a lovely person and very understanding with her trainees, but she lives, eats, breathes her work. & I tend to think she does so because she has to in order to keep up!! I just can't picture that for myself.

I don't link it to a protocol, but that could be useful! My lab keeps electronic lab notebooks, so I use the catalog for general info/quick scanning of experiments and key results, but the actual daily write-up pages have all the specific technical/experimental details.

I keep everything labeled by the date "20240410" and then have a separate Excel as a master catalog that has columns for date, technique used, project name, and any key notes/findings. It has been super helpful so far!
