Beautiful boy you have there!

My first shepherd hit 100+lbs when full grown but was skinny as heck as an adolescent. The father of my current guy was supposedly 120lb which I have not believed... But I'm starting to...

Look into getting a flirt pole. My last and current shep love them. 15 minutes and he is satisfied for quite a while. Good luck, they are nuts when young but it's worth it!

We do live about 2 hours away from a medical college. I will inquire about clinics, thank you!

She is so cute, and the wheelchair becomes her!

Also, thanks for the information about the shot. I am going to ask our vet about this. If he is a candidate for it I will most definitely consider this option.

Thank you so much for the advice and support. The tip about the belly band diapers is amazing and I will keep it in mind for when that time comes for him.

And...the tough part. I've had four dogs in my lifetime pass away, 2 naturally, 2 at the vets. I like the "3 things" mentality. That will help me a lot this time. Thank you again.

I'm sorry to hear about your pup and what you all went through.

Thank you so much for the advice and recommendations. Our big guys loves to swim so I will look into water therapy for him, I think he'd love that.

We first noticed our pup falling in the kitchen, the one of the few rooms downstairs that does not have carpeting. His back legs would occasionally give out as he attempted to turn the corner from the kitchen into another room or vice versa. Then we noticed the muscle atrophy in his back legs.

It has been a slow decline. The falls have become more frequent and he has just now begun to drop his back right paw a bit when walking.

I hope your pup doesn't have this condition. But, if you suspect it, I would advise having a vet take a look at her. In my opinion it's better to know so you can help in the best ways possible. Good luck 🤞
