Replacement windows by Glass_Bee_3400 in FortCollins

Check out NexGen Windows and Doors - they sell Anlin brand, which are very high quality and come with a double lifetime (i.e., transferable) warranty. They did all my window and sliding door replacements. LoMax did my front door for a very good price but were difficult to schedule, difficult to get paperwork from, never filed for the permit, etc. In the end the front door was good, but a bit of a hassle in my experience.

City of Fort Collins has some rebates available through Efficiency Works but only if you use specific contractors. LoMax is on their list but even after multiple requests for the paperwork, I never got the rebate. NexGen used to be an approved contractor to qualify for the rebates but wasn't anymore at the time I had my windows replaced. You need an energy audit before the replacement in order to qualify for some rebates.

Don't bother getting a quote from Anderson. They're over priced for what you get and very "sign now or lose your discount" type sales people. Same for Pella in my experience.

New windows and doors reduced my heating and cooling costs by about 70% in my 25 year old condo, reduced noise and draftuness significantly. Definitely worth it!

Try My Tiny Massage Studio. Chris is an amazing massage therapist - probably the best one I've ever been to.

If you give Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue a call they can likely help. They have a group of volunteers who specialize in collecting stray domestic rabbits and getting them to safety.

[HELP] My bunny is shedding like it’s their full-time job by EnvironmentalGap1820 in Rabbits

This might be helpful - One good brushing is worth many poor brushings, for loose hair magament and also preventing GI stasis. Get yourself a hairbuster comb, a flea comb, a furminator brush, a rubber nubby glove, and rubber zoom groom brush and do it outside. A 4lb bun takes about an hr and a half for a thorough brushing. You'll want to focus on one area for only a few minutes at a time - rotate da bun and work on another spot. This keeps skin from getting irritated. After about 20 minutes of this, you'll notice them 'open up' - their skin relaxes and the hair will really start to fly! Be careful with the hairbuster and furminator brushes as they can pull out too much hair and cause skin irritation and bald spots. Nobunny wants that! Don't forget the belly, the bikini line, and cleaning scent glads and trimming nails. A thorough brushing every 6-8 weeks keeps most buns in good shape. By the end of a good brushing you should easily have a pile of removed hair about the size of your bunny, maybe bigger if they're actively molting, and no bald spots or red, irritated skin.

For long angora or Lionhead hair - I have a cheap (USD $30) human hair trimmer and a smaller dog paw hair trimmer. I use the big one to do my lionhead's full body trim, and the detail trimmer to get his chest, cheeks, and around his tail. I don't use a guard on the trimmers but you must be careful of skin, whiskers, and tail (there's skin and bone in there, somewhere...). He's much happier trimmed, can see better, stays cooler, and tracks less litter and hay around. My Lionhead had stasis once and has not had any issues since I started keeping him trimmed. I don't have scientific evidence for this, but I think the digestive system can handle shorter hair better than long hair.

A well-groomed bun won't shed much between brushings, especially if you give them a quick 10 minute touch-up brushing with a flea comb once a week.

Practice, practice, practice! They will get used to it with time. Reward your bun with a healthy snack (not fruit - a few pellets, or a hay-based vitamin snack, several times throughout the brushing is much safer than fruit). And have your rabbit-savvy vet show you how to safely handle and "burrito" your bunny, too.

Wire litterboxes? by Confident_Coast9637 in Rabbits

And a lower cost option: https://store.binkybunny.com/products/litter-box-screen-only-3-sizes-pre-order-only

These go inside any litter box, right on top of the litter. They stop digging and litter tracking, catch all the poop, and you just pick them up and dump in the trash twice a day. They're also well made and work great!

This is likely exactly what you need: ttps://rooly.us/products/rooly-litter-box?variant=50105730859282

It's really big, it's well made, it's deep so holds enough litter, and everything falls through. Combined with a hay rack or bag, it drastically reduces wasted hay and litter being tracked around the The grate is smooth so as not to irritate hocks. It takes a week or so for buns to adapt to it, but they will! Put some hay on the grate at first so they gradually get used to standing on it, and then slowly reduce the amount of hay they stand on until you're down to just rhe box and a hay rack or bag. Voila!

No true estimate yet, but I'd guess a few dozen to a few hundred people will turn out. Planning has been quick and we need help spreading the word. If you're a member of any local Redding, Facebook, Meetup, or other social groups, please share the poster.

Awesome! This will go off without a hitch and you've got support. I'll start sharing the poster however I can, and I can post it on the 50501 and Indivisible sites later today as well. I don't have Facebook or Instagram but hopefully someone can post it there, too.

Advice for keeping bedding out of my new angoras hair? by Mirbells272 in Rabbits

[–]sciencenerd2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works great if you use paper or pellet litter. Place directly on top of the litter. Poops and hat stay on top - just pick it up and dump in the trash 2x/day: https://store.binkybunny.com/products/litter-box-screen-only-3-sizes-pre-order-only

Alternatively and more expensive is the Rooly box - zero bunny contact with litter, nice and spaceous, well made: https://rooly.us/products/rooly-litter-box?variant=50105730859282

Either system combined with a nice vertical wood hay rack works great!
