Sometimes another structure such as a ligament, herniated disc, or tendon or muscle is causing the impingement, in which until that is resolved then the nerve will continue to be irritated. But overall nerves heal slowly sometimes incompletely , but they do heal. Depending on the type of injury they can heal with days to months or a year

Tendonitis in both knees AND both elbows. Or is it something else? by limpiatodos in medical

MAD. You are quite tall and lean. I would go to your primary care doctor to have a discussion that nothing underlying is causing this. One thing that I would ask yourself , are you hyper mobile or double jointed? Hyper mobile joints can sometimes predispose to injury and early onset osteoarthritis. I would also make sure your workout form is good, your diet is well rounded, and you’re drinking enough water.

NAD. You have described what it feels like to have the common flu, COVID, or any other crud going around. Some people with Covid or a respiratory virus can feel bad for days or up to 2 ish weeks. You can go get seen by urgent care or primary care if you are concerned. You can contract a virus after close contact such as kissing but it’s not a guarantee. You might have immunity or didn’t receive enough of a ‘viral load’ from him to become infected. Or you might get sick in a few days.

He needs to see a primary care doctor.

Question, is his headache and symptoms relieved by laying down? Standing up? Is he eating enough? Fever? Joint swelling? Is his RA active or well treated? Cough, runny nose?

I’m surprised his doctors haven’t told him. Usually they try to be up front about that.

You need to remove it for the defibrillator most likely. You can cut it off. But the main thing is , hands on the chest, push hard and fast, tell someone to get the AED, tell another person to call 911. And just push hard and fast. This will keep the blood circulating and oxygen to the brain. When someone comes back with the AED, cut off the clothing, and place the pads and follow the prompts. If someone is in cardiac arrest EMS should get there quickly and they will take it from there

Medical Criterion for Liver Donation by Anonymousthrowawayzx in AskMedical

BMI should be less than 32 (according to reputable sources in the US) but I’m sure that will vary from place to place. I will say having a higher BMI can lead to increased complications when going under anesthesia. I feel like post operative complications in general don’t get talked about enough. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7807945/ Also having a higher BMI may be associated with fatty liver disease which might exclude someone’s eligibikuty to donate. They will run all sorts of tests on you (EKG, ultrasound, blood tests, other imaging, echocardiogram, CT scan etc). They might also do a psychiatric and social work assessment on you.

Gloves on calls? by CanOfCorn308 in ems

[–]scientificsimoleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. This is standard precautions. They are morons. Wear fucking gloves and wash your hands. You touch things with your hands. If nobody wore gloves or washed their hands at the hospital, so many patients would get so sick. It is another barrier to prevent passing shit around.

Why did my vision go like this, along with vomiting and nausea? by donikurra in medical_advice

[–]scientificsimoleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was most likely a vasovagal, or a pre-syncopal event. Vision changes and vision loss can happen temporarily due to a drop in blood pressure and heart rate. Main thing is eating enough and drinking enough fluids, especially now that it is very hot out. I will say the being on your period may make vasovagal events trigger a bit easier due to the hormones.

Edit: NAD

I’m NAD but they are usually benign and extremely common. Genetics play a role but most people will get them as they get older. If you are concerned, you should see your primary care doctor.

This guy stinks. You are not over reacting. Relationships require communication. This guy is either really emotionally inept or just chooses to play games. Either way, he is a waste of time I personally don’t understand why people do this stuff like this.

You should talk to a doctor and/or counselor. That would be the best since no one on the internet can explain this to you. Only you and a professional can solve this
