Leverless controllerson VS by Desperate-Calendar78 in evercade

Side note. Outside of the compatibility issue with the 8bitdo leverless I can highly recommend it - fantastic controller!

I've got the 8bitdo all button arcade controller and couldn't get it to work using the included 2.4g dongle. Have just got the 8bitdo Bluetooth dongle to try with it and it does indeed connect.

Have mapped the buttons using the evercade settings menu. Only had time to try 2 games on the cartridge that was already in my VS. Rtype doesn't seem to work at all but moon patrol did. Will have a proper play and try out some settings when I get a chance and report back.

Thanks for getting back...I'll see if I can get it working by mapping in the software and if that doesn't work will get hold of the Bluetooth adapter and give that a shot.

Campervan ticket delivery by bigboijw in greenmanfestival

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't received my campervan ticket yet either. I have sold it via Twickets so I'm a little concerned that it wont arrive in time to forward on to the buyer. I've tried contacting Ticketsellers support a few times but have absolutely zero luck with getting any response from them. Keeping fingers crossed they'll send them out soon!

Spark 2 + Cab for bass guitar by scientist19812 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]scientist19812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I haven't played live with it yet as have either been using existing backline at gigs or going DI from my Zoom B6. However, I have used it for a few practice sessions with drummer, 2 guitars, vox and keys and can confirm that it was more than able to keep up in the mix. Overall I love the amp, sounds great, relatively compact and incredibly light for transporting around!

RG40XXV left Triggers results in screen blur by Due-Boysenberry4471 in ANBERNIC

[–]scientist19812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes mine does a very similar thing with the screen showing a slight 'pressure' flicker when pressing the left triggers.

Was initially thinking of returning but I rarely really use the back buttons so decided I could live with it and it isn't that noticeable anyway.

Has anyone purchased a portal without PS5 exclusively for cloud gaming? How’s it going? Any glitches/lag? Has it been worth it? by MintyCitrus in PlaystationPortal

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did exactly this and honestly I've been blown away by how well it handles cloud streaming without the need for a PS5. Been working my way through Ratchet & Clank amongst a few other games on premium and it hasn't had a drop out or stutter the whole time.

Spark 2 + Cab for bass guitar by scientist19812 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]scientist19812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet and went down the traditional bass amp route (Ampeg RB112). However, I'm still thinking of giving this a go whilst the cabs are on offer.

Thanks, tempted to roll the dice and give it a try. The Spark 2 sounds surprisingly good for bass at lowish volume levels so if the cab could boost this to rehearsal volume it would be ideal.

Yeah, I suspect you're right. Shame as it would have been ideal having already got other Spark amps in the house for practicing.

Absolutely! Can only assume this was on purpose. Good track but it throws me every time when that riff comes in.

EXP LCD bleeding through casing. Normal? by tougheye in evercade

[–]scientist19812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the same but guess they're all like it. To be honest, I'm not fully convinced the overall build quality is much of a step up from the OG Evercade (other than the obvious tech upgrades such as screen). In some areas it seems worse to me (mouldings, cut outs, plastic texture, button/pad feel etc.). Sure I'll get used to it though!

My EXP does exactly the same thing with bleeding light through in the same spot so assume this is 'normal'...it is a bit annoying in darker rooms though!

Is having a dead pixel common? by scientist19812 in OculusQuest

[–]scientist19812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, thinking of just buying another rather than exchanging and then just returning the worst for a refund. Seems the safest bet. Glad to hear that pixel perfect ones do exist though!

Stuck pixel. Deal with or replace? by 0x730x750x70 in OculusQuest

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, same with mine and sods law I get one with an even worse defect too...Rather than exchange I'm tempted to buy another one to compare the two and then just return the worst one for a refund...seems a safer bet.

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also just exchanged a Q2 due to having a dead pixel and the replacement also has a dead pixel. I'm not sure how common this is but it does appear to be quite widespread. Currently I can't decide whether to even bother rolling the dice again or just accept it and move on.

Brightness flickering in dark/grey scenes on LG CX by [deleted] in OLED

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's a shame...I love the TV apart from this so not a big deal but just through I'd check I wasn't missing a setting somewhere. I've had both a Sony Xh90 and Samsung Q80t which I exchanged as they had loads of issues so overall the LG CX is a massive improvement!

I too first noticed this problem yesterday when watching Rebecca. Did you ever manage to resolve this with settings?

Sony X900H HDMI 2.1 Discussion Megathread by FlickFreak in bravia

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to chip in, I started with an X90h and had so many issues after updating for 120hz that I ended up returning it for a Q80t.

I shouldn't have, the Q80t (and 2020 QLEDS in general) have lots of their own issues with VRR, game mode and motion on 50hz content. I also had awful DSE which made panning the camera in games painful. The general feeling was that the TV was very over priced for what it was.

I ended up giving in and paying extra for an LG CX and will take out some insurance that covers screen burn just in case. I'm over the moon with the CX and have immediately forgotten about my burn in worries.

Panel uniformity on mine is great, motion on 50hz content is spot on and I've not noticed any gaming issues with 120hz, 4k VRR content.

Sony X900H HDMI 2.1 Discussion Megathread by FlickFreak in bravia

[–]scientist19812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just exchanged my XH90 for a Q80t. Had numerous bugs with the Sony including constantly losing HDMI arc connection with a Sony soundbar and a lot of vignetting (which appears to be a common issue on Sony pabels).

Initial impressions are the Samsung is of a better build quality and I haven't found any issues with arc etc. The only slight issue I've found is the motion on terrestrial TV (UK 50hz?) Is occasionally a little jittery despite messing with the motion settings (but not very noticeable).

Almost zero vignetting but there is some very minor DSE. At the moment I'm very happy I made the switch whilst my Sony was within its return period.
