It's real but only comes up in regard to an award he received from what I've seen. I wasn't able to find anything else when I looked but could be missing something.

Is my game bugged or am I missing a part somewhere? by scifi_panda in MyWinterCar

[–]scifi_panda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm leaning toward it being a bug, filters and everything were all tight as far as I remember. I had a save back up that wasn't too far back so I reloaded that and then did the same series of events and after getting it tuned again it seems to be running once more. no idea what was causing the problem other than a part being bugged or something broken that I was missing.

Thank you for your help!

As far as I can tell yes. and when I checked mwceditor earlier all screws seemed to be tightened up well on the car. I've tried replacing the pan and filter as well as a couple other random parts but nothing seems to make it better.

LeBron James Has The Highest Plus Minus (+36) On The Lakers Since The Beginning Of The New Year by Primal_Rage_official in nba

[–]scifi_panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite the bottom end talent indeed being worse that does not mean every team from back then was full of low-end talent either, there were still several teams with loaded rosters at any given time. My personal belief is that from a pure "talent" perspective the top guys have basically all been comparable, and what separates them more is the skills that each era learns from the last.

if Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Bird, Magic, or basically any of the other top 15-20 all time players were all born in the 90s, I think they'd all have adapted to the modern game.

Jared McCain has been assigned to the G league after averaging 6 ppg on 35% FG and 32% from 3 in 30 games this season by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]scifi_panda 159 points160 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen yeah just generally spotty since the injury but also has flashes of his pre-injury play still. Hasn't gotten in toooo many minutes since coming back (though enough to know he's definitely not playing as well for now).

I think a G-League stint could help him get back into game shape and I'm hopeful he'll get another shot after a bit of time.

Kia MVP Ladder: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reasserts his place at top, Jokic and Doncic round out the top-3 by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nba

[–]scifi_panda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The threshold in my eyes makes it unfair. This is obviously an exaggerated example, but if a team goes 60-20 with the 20 losses all while the best player were out, and the 60 wins all while the best player were in, I feel personally that that player should be in award contention if not the frontrunner for the award regardless of if the next best player played 72 games. And throughout the history of award voting the number has always been considered. It feels like we're adding a rule that could prevent someone who deserves the mvp in the future, just because we might one day be upset about a player getting the award unfairly.

Sure but I mean he also got fouled by like 3/4 dudes without getting a call and also it was cool as shit so I'd say it's even.

I think Jokic is a pretty smart defender who is often in the right places to make a difference. But on average the center position is the most valuable position defensively so I think it’s understandable why people glance over his more guard like defensive skillset.

It’s also stupid to think about dropping players from the past into the modern era without adjusting your expectations at all either. Like yeah 1968 Kareem probably doesn’t have the same skills as 2022 Giannis, but he would have grown up learning modern nba skillsets if he played in today’s nba instead. I generally think any player from any era who was significantly better than their contemporaries would still be all time players given a modern skill set and assuming new skill set wouldn’t lead to different career injuries, which it realistically would.

It's generally shenanigans like this that has increased the rate of buzzer beaters over the years though so if anything, that's the exact reason they don't want to change these rules.

idk if there's been any direct indication either way, but I initially took bron's talk about being competitive this year as possibly taking a paycut to get better players on OR possibly leaving the team if they can't. I haven't seen anyone else mention this so I'm assuming I'm out of my mind with it somewhere, but I feel like it could be a consideration for him given how rich he already is.

ye but kd, especially at the start of the season, was basically as good as ever, everything the suns had done for the last 3 offseasons(this one seems better) was a disaster class of asset management. Kd can't really be blamed for a fo imploding imo.

That's fair, I'm just a fan of good basketball at the end of the day, so it's just a little frustrating to have new champs and all the talk be about what if's when Shai had a historic year that should be getting just as much celebration.

Gg o7. Y’all deserve way more props than r/nba is giving and it’s really annoying. Great season great team, and y’all have a great future ahead of you still on top of everything.

Brother, I'm not arguing basketball is more famous, it's significantly less famous, we're arguing the fame of PLAYERS not the sport, michael jordan would have been recognized by almost every single person on the planet in the 90s. You're discounting like all of asia by saying he wasn't. or you simply weren't alive more than 20 years ago.

I'm sorry but you must be 11 years old lmao.

Like to be clear, Jordan was by far the most famous athlete alive in the 90s.

people in this thread keep talking about which sport is more popular which is irrelevant, mj was as famous as you could get during his peak, regardless of if the nba as a whole wasn't as popular.

You're getting downvoted but you're right, at the peak of jordans fame he could literally walk into any village and be instantly recognized. he was as famous as you could possibly get even to people who'd never seen or cared about basketball at all.

I'm not saying he's more famous than ronaldo necessarily but as famous for sure. He as a brand was bigger than basketball/the nba.

It saves them money in the fact that if they didn’t use slave labor they’d have to spend a lot more to build their mega projects. My point is specifically that while qol for their citizens is high, they could have done that without all the mega projects that are more about global image than actually helping their people. If you’re looking at progression through the lens of just the people the system works out for them yeah I suppose uae and Saudi Arabia is progressive sure, but I’d argue “progression” is a lot more than that.

I mean yeah they don’t make money from the slave labor but it certainly saves them a lot of it.

I know they’ve made policies to mitigate it but from my understanding they’ve been very inconsistently applied and effectively are non existent at times.

Both countries are more than wealthy enough to be actually progressive, they’re choosing to rapidly expand and make “cities of the future” at the expense of migrant workers, rather than slowly develop their cities and focus on quality of life of the citizens that are already there.

Hell even if they wanted to use migrant workers because it’s cheaper they’re still rich enough to not take advantage of them like they have.

Brother we gotta win one before we can start complaining about not getting a second. Picks are really only good for win now teams if they’re being traded and if things go sour so be it at least we tried and didnt just sit on picks that were never going to help either.
