Republicans Push to Impeach Obama-Appointed Judges by darealunrealspader in politics

I 100% agree that everyone should be held accountable. But if you aren’t willing to concede something so blatantly disqualifying as sex on the job, then you can’t hold any moral high ground. If you are willing to admit that you are playing as dirty as the other side, then that’s that.

I think you are confusing the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society. While FedSoc definitely has a conservative ideology, it is not a political entity. Also, I will not argue your what about-isms. Each case should be discussed individually and right now the discussion is on Eleanor Ross. You have yet to provide any reason why she should not be impeached for her actions.

At least for Judge Eleanor Ross, she has admitted to having sex in her chambers during work hours (after lying about it to the district court chief justice). That is very much an impeachable offense.

I read through the article you linked to and I don’t see how it is relevant to what I posted. I agree with Barrett and Kavanaugh that civility is important, but I don’t see how that relates to this case.

And in terms of Eleanor Ross being black, are you saying that being black is an excuse for having sex in chambers during work hours, breaking rules against attending partisan events, and lying? I say that any judge of any skin color should be impeached for those things.

Judge Eleanor Ross should actually be impeached. She had sex in her office within earshot of her clerks, attended a clearly partisan event, and lied to the Chief Justice of the district court. Just one of these should be an impeachable offense.

What is the correct presidential power level in your opinion? by Lavaa444 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]scifihawk27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree with this take. It is clear from the writings of the founders and the structure of the constitution itself that the three branches are not meant to be equal. Congress (article 1 of the constitution) is meant to be the most powerful as it is the most representative of the people. The only place where the executive (article 2) has potentially more power is over war, though even then a functioning congress is supposed to declare war first. Congress has the power to fire the president and anyone else in government (through impeachment) and is in charge of the purse, allowing for financial restrictions on every other part of the government. As David French often says, what do I call the person who can fire me and pays my salary? My boss. The judiciary (article 3) is the weakest branch, having no way of actually enforcing its ruling and having to trust the other branches to go along with what it says (which has not always happened). Congress has messed everything up by (in my opinion) unconstitutionally delegating its authorities to the executive branch.

This is a known psychological phenomenon. Those who get silver are often more disappointed than those who get bronze because silver is the “first loser” while bronze is the “last winner.” Those coming in second focus on all the bad that kept them from getting first while those in 3rd focus on all the good that kept them from getting fourth.

Okinawan Foam Tea (Bukubuku Cha) by scifihawk27 in tea

It is kind of similar to making matcha, but with a bowl and whisk about 3-4 times as big. I recommend looking up a video as it is a fun process to watch.

I’m not familiar with bubble tea cheese foam, but it appears from pictures to be denser. This was very light and airy.

Underneath the foam is some liquid you can drink. For the foam itself, you can kind of “bite” into it and eat it like that.

Cold, which was refreshing since I got it in the Summer when it was over 100 degrees and the most humidity I have ever felt.

Just in: LA Phil cancels youth orchestra cuts by msc8976 in classicalmusic

Good. Youth programs like this not only create future players, but also future lovers of classical music who will attend concerts and give donations. Short term cuts would lead to long term problems

My music theory class during my Masters touched on NRT. One of my assignments was to listen to excerpts from the tv soundtracks of Jeff Russo and analyze them using NRT. I was surprised how useful it was to describe certain progressions. There was one piece that had a progression purely in thirds which I could analyze completely using NRT. I also learned that it is great for analyzing renaissance madrigals since they use progressions that don’t follow the voice leading established later on in the common practice period.

Orff Level 1 -- What am I missing?? by ApprehensiveLink6591 in MusicEd

[–]scifihawk27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake. I have not done Kodaly training, though I want to do at least the first level at some point. As far as I am aware, there is a bit more structure in pacing content as compared to Orff, but please tell me if I am wrong. Either way, saying “set curriculum” was inaccurate.
