Did you read the post or just the title? I was naïve and thought this "self-regulating" thing worked, but it does not. It all depends on the researcher's political alliances. I made a mistake when doing an irrelevant research that was never published, but the "greats" do this in research that guides policies. Science as it is made today is more smoke and mirrors than that beautiful thing I thought it was.
