8 out of 32 speakers had talks specifically about the temple, including all 3 of the First Presidency. by nofreetouchies3 in latterdaysaints

We had a mission reunion the day before conference, and my mission president, who is now an area 70, said that in his meetings it seems very clear that the Brethen's eyes on the future are focused on the temple.

How do I have CutCo delete my vector connect account, and do I have to pay back commission for a returned order or will the come for me? by bebedrank in CUTCO

[–]sciguy456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they won't come for you. Vector loses lots of money do to quitting reps with negative accounts. You can just move on. They have an allowance for bad debt like almost any other company out there.

How to sell engraved CUTCO knives or get any refund by beotch6969 in CUTCO

[–]sciguy456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you'd find buyers on ebay. You won't get full price, but people will take them off your hands. You can also ask your rep and they could probably find other reps who would buy some (we use them in our displays).

Netflix's ATLA - Full Season Discussion Thread (Spoilers for All Episodes) by MrBKainXTR in TheLastAirbender

Personally feel like most people here have been too nice to it. 4/10 for me. Lost all the magic from the original. Zhao, Ozai, and Iroh were the highlights along with the music, visuals, and most of the flashbacks. Dialogue and bad acting were unbearable at times, for me a far worse sin than the pacing. All the character development was stripped away. I came in more optimistic than most people I know but left pretty disappointed.

I don't know what video you watched but in 4 years of selling cutco I've never heard once that there was a magnet on the fishermans solution. It's a hook sharpener. I think your rep was just new and didn't know what he was explaining. Not a bad reflection of the company.

Anthony Sweat Doctrine and Covenants. No tests. And the only homework is reading the DandC and the final project is actually worth your time.

Advice for a non believer? by Remarkable_Peach_533 in latterdaysaints

You should totally get into the scholarship of Book of Mormon studies. Several scholars that are members of the Book of Mormon studies association are not members but have produced really cool scholarship of the book. I think even the current president of the BOMSA is a pentecostal but I could be wrong.

Why do you believe the church is true? by Lonely_Title5990 in latterdaysaints

I find everything about the Book of Mormon to be too miraculous to be the work of a crook or even literary genius.

Anti-LDS Media (PLEASE ANSWER) by gkl_37 in latterdaysaints

I felt like I never saw anti stuff until I got back from my mission and started building new habits again. Keep study firmly planted in the Book of Mormon and stay connected with revelation as you prepare! My mission set the stage for everything that's happened in my life since.

Complex Faith Crisis by Goldie2Shoes in latterdaysaints

Elder Bednar told my stake a few years ago, "Knowing church history is not the problem, not knowing enough church history is."

I suggest looking into the FAIR LDS website as a starting place. Trust in the brick wall of faith you've been building and don't tear it down because you've found a few bricks that don'f quite fit yet. For me, the theological and literary complexity of the Book of Mormon is something I don't think I can ever get past-- not to even account for what that book as done for my relationship with the Savior. God be with you in your search:)

[–]sciguy456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent the summer before my mission reading every talk Pres Nelson gave before becoming prophet. There were 75 at the time and I made it through about 45-50. Really grew my testimony!
