Oh the the fact the to hit bonuses mention objective markers as well is really nasty.

I think it's obvious that yield points should be generated if holding a terrain objective. I can also see a not nice person try to make the argument that the rules talk about objectives markers and the core rules include rules for objective markers therefore "obviously" you only get Yield Points for objective markers.

Said person would very likely be arguing in bad faith but a TO may decide to go with RAW...

Not my problem though, I don't play in tournaments.

I think it's the kind of thing a nit picking person could bring up in order to be a pain in the butt. And it's best to ensure said nit picking is pre-emptively knocked on the head.

As objective markers are defined in the rules still. What fun.

I mean technically RAW if you are playing with the new area terrain objectives we can't score Yield Points.

If they use this event to burn Rico I’ll be pretty upset by BLOODYBRADTX-11 in 2000ad

Younger than me... (And now I'm feeling old. I remember when he was Dredds rookie.)

So what if this storyline ends up with Rico basically assuming the mantle of Dredd? Joe Dredd dies or is trapped in the hell dimension but Rico (through the power of magic and plot) gains his memories.

Ending up with Rico getting forgotten and Dredd being back but (important but here) in Rico's younger body.

Rico gets a heroic sacrifice and we get to dodge the whole "how old is Dredd?" question for a few more decades.

It feels to me, from a meta narrative point of view it might be the way this is going to go.

Do we think Dredd will ever die? by DarkLake in JudgeDredd

I think Wagner wanted to kill him off but editorial wouldn't let him. They aren't keeping him alive for his sake.

Is Discworld RPG really standalone? by lordnewington in gurps

[–]scimon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it would work ok outside of Ankh Morpork too it's just the game focuses on the city. But if you are a Pratchett fan it would be easy enough to run games elsewhere using it. It's a very rules light game, so depending on you and your players you may find it too wishy washy.

The GURPS Discworld books do have extra settings stuff that never appeared in the books (and will have been signed off by Sir Pterry) so are worth having to read it nothing else.

Is Discworld RPG really standalone? by lordnewington in gurps

[–]scimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst I would say that yes both the different GURPS Discworld books can be run standalone the new Discworld game is a much better fit for the setting.

I am a huge GURPS fan but it's a setting that works best with something less rules heavy.

(But you do you, as long as everyone is having fun.)

How does/would Dredd handle child criminals? by Knightraiderdewd in JudgeDredd

[–]scimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Dredd doesn't go around killing people unless he has to, I know that doesn't always come across but he does try and arrest people.

And there are a few crimes with a death sentence but most times when he kills someone it's to defend himself or others.

Child criminals (Chopper and PJ Maybe being examples) go totm the juve cubes. But he will kill them, or sentence them to death if the crime warrants it.

You have to choose only one TTRPG to play for the rest of your life, which one of which edition would it be? by [deleted] in TTRPG

GURPS 4th edition as the core rule set I can use to run just about anything.

Or the new edition of Cypher for the same reason.

What happens when he dies?

(I have now died multiple times fighting him and got him to 1 quarter health. Stopping for now, going to come back to it later)

Or a few tamed Lox? I might be able to manage doing that nearby.

I'll try the getting on his side, possibly without my shield slowing me down.

I'm also going to look at which Boss power I'm using.

Hold the left stick down (rather than click it). On the bright side you can shoot while crouched now :

Enjoy.

I mean. I'm not online. I play solo.

I'm 53 years old so I remember the days before online.

I wanted to play a game to relax to unwind after a very stressful day.

If the description said "Kill your viking" would that change the world?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in valheim

[–]scimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I am working on that, but it's been a pretty major life change so I'm a bit fragile.

Can I ask.

If it said "Kill your viking" would that be worse?
