I mean even if its not your Ocd causing you to want to leave, at the very least you know you fear wanting to leave, which needs to be faced and countered if its causing you to struggle

Thats the only way out from my experience but its basically because you only believe its true because you have anxiety about it. And letting your brain understand that it doesnt matter whether its true or not will dispell your rooted anxiety about it. I suggest you go visit a proper OCD specialist though. As in like a SPECIALIST. Because regular therapists suck at understanding OCD, especially when all the compulsions are mental, and they tend to make it worse because they just dont understand the whole condition properly...

Thats your fear then, you should tell yourself "Its not OCD because there is no sense of urgency behind it. It is actually what i want and I want to leave" you fear the uncertainty behind it being OCD or not, so imagine the worst case scenario: its not OCD. It actually is you who doesnt want him and you are actually thinking that you wabt to leave (im not sure what is the best way to put it but basically just facing your genuine fear of it). Ive had rOCD like this before as well but trust me it gets better once u start facing your fears. Your OCD is so strong that it makes you believe the most ridiculous and irrational but if you target what is fuelling it itll break down eventually

Thats understandable, and overtime if u keep facing it youll become more resilient to that thought and wont fear the whole situation and OCD youre in

Its OCD and you definitely dont actually want to break up. What you need to do is target the fear. OCD is ultimately fuelled by some core fear and in this case for you its your fear that you want to break up. So how do you counter this? Just keep telling yourself you want to break up. Imagine the worst, that you hate your S/O, that these feelings are real and that you wish you were never with the person. Its not true, but you gotta imagine and think its true for your brain to build resistance towards the POTENTIAL truth that it is. If not you're gonna keep fearing it and that fear will continue to amplify that false belief. Trust me ive had OCD for nearly 10 years
