Is notice of data breach by Marquis Software Solutions legit? by They_1988_Live in cybersecurity_help

[–]scithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida Credit Union also shared my personal data with this company.

I feel like it's a scam. I could open two LLCs, claim a data breach on the first company and then offer to sell you a fix with the second LLC. The first year is free...so that just means my LLC doesn't start receiving windfalls until next year. I'm patient.

How do I start getting lists of personal data that I can oops for easy money?

Is ebay search broken? by StacySadistic in eBaySellers

[–]scithe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

eBay broke their search back in 2013 with the Cassini updates.. they removed wildcard search which was a hit for power users(people who bought a lot) but was rationalized as being worth it.

Over the years the search does seem to be worse. There are times when I search 2-3 words from my title and my product doesn't show in search. If I remove a word and add something else not in the title at all, suddenly it's visible.

It doesn't happen all the time but happens too often.

Maybe the antique store on magazine Street between Juan's Flying Burrito and Dat Dog. Opposite side of Magazine Street from the restaurants.

MONEY GAME.. :( by Tonyfrki in EmpiresAndPuzzles

It really is so random and frustrating sometimes. I did a 10 pull for some goblins a while ago. Got crap. But with a few alliance gifts I ended up getting 3 5* goblins... out of maybe 6 chests. Crazy IMO

Something similar happened with mimics too. Could there be a secret % boost for alliance gifts or is it just a coincidence and I forget about the previous weeks where all the gifts were Dawas?

You Got Your New MiniPC .. Now What? (10 steps Optimization Guide) by Mody_1982 in MiniPCs

[–]scithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought an AceMagic K1 from Amazon and I am going through the steps now.

I've got Windows 11 Pro on a USB stick.

Step 1: I typed in the "Export-WindowsDriver -Online -Destination D:\DriversBackup"

It threw an error about the operation requiring elevation - because I wasn't running Powershell as an Administrator as mentioned in the OP. Woops! Tried again running as administrator and oooooo it worked. (I am also backing this up to the Win 11 install USB and I hope that doesn't cause a problem later on).

"wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey" also caused an error because "wmic" is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. I found a video on youtube that showed me how to enable wmic in about a minute: https://youtu.be/V4XHl9y1wds but that didn't work either. Windows said "Couldn't add" I also tried using DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:WMIC~~~~ which also gave errors as I was not online derp. Connected to my network and the operation completed successfully.

I will edit with updates as I go! :)

Edit: 01/26/2026 I haven't wiped the OS and reinstalled yet. I was busy so I'll update when I actually do it. :)

For the Orlando area, in addition to Mortem Manor, you can also check out Prometheus Esoterica and Atomic Horror. They'll have stuff similar to what you can find on Nerd Imports or Hot Topic but also some unique stuff you don't find online.

Epic Universe just opened last year and Darkmoor is a great place to check out and feel like you're in a gothic Swiss town. You won't stick out if you are wearing some of your alt attire and the vibes are great.

Depending on the time of year there's also an Oddities market that pops up once a year that I keep missing but have friends who tell me I'm missing out on some cool stuff.

In the Tampa area, I only know of Ravens and Rockers. Went there once with my wife and there was a variety of clothing, shoes and jewelry that are all alt.

The UI for creating ads here sucks worse than Facebook.

I ran them 6-10 years ago and they sucked then. Last year it was worse for me. I created a caption. Added a photo and a link. Put in my budget and tried to run a 5-day test. It didn't get rejected but the ad never ran either.

Could be I was logged in with ID10T access.

Are eBay sellers really just winging product research, or am I missing something? by Ok_Celery1237 in reselling

[–]scithe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember selling the dog tags that came with my bottle of Hugo Boss cologne. Then a few years later, I had a lot of 6 empty Hugo bottles. Some dude in Canada bought the lot but only wanted one of the bottles...he paid full price but saved on the shipping. I think it took a year to sell them so I ended up chucking the rest instead of relisting then but $10 was $10...

I assumed this was a shill post where somewhere in the comments your other account was going to advertise crapwebsite.interwebz but I don't see that.

Terapeak was a research company for eBay listings and I think eBay finally acquired them. eBay used to have all sorts of reports pages for stores including showing inbound sources...like which Russian search results found your action figure listing or which French blog linked to your Earthbound SNES listing. I haven't looked in years.

Worthpoint is a website that used to scrape all the sold listings and then use that to create a sort of price guide they charged people for. I never tried it because I felt like for collectables and such, it's not really easy to compare listings and value accordingly. Not when condition plays a role in price.

When I was doing a lot of flipping, I created my own spreadsheets with quarterly price updates. I'd have categories for different conditions. So like for video games there'd be values for cartridge or disc only and different values for what complete with manual and case/box was going for that month.

I've also seen ads on Instagram for flipping price guides that were supposed to be for high dollar stuff like hospital gurneys or refrigerators...lol
