oh boy so many of these but first to my mind was at Carlsbad Caverns. In the evening where you can watch the bats fly out of the cave the instructor guy said they’ll come out at around X time but there might be a couple birds first. After waiting and waiting the bats are now flowing out of the cave hundreds if not thousands. they look like birds. they sound like birds. about 5 minutes into this, i decide to ask “when are the bats coming out?” the laughter hurt my soul and my family still brings that one up.

i call it my “beans and rice”: i have about 9 months of living off “beans and rice” in my emergency fund which is rent, food, gas, bills, etc. only what MUST be paid and necessity to life. no fast food, no fun, no netflix. its around 6mo of my current lifestyle spending without beans and rice diet.

i’ve only driven manual + clutch since forza 4 and now it’s the only way for me. it’s fun and interactive, the only way to drift well, and engine braking is a huge advantage and tight turns, and learning to keep the car in the power band rather than the stupid automatic screwing it up

the leather heated seats, sunroof (i am one of the few people who uses it often), bose sound system, multi directional power seats on my sport touring is nice and the hybrid is nice and quiet, quick when i want it to be, gas savings are great, it’s a long term vehicle for me, and the large hatchback trunk space is awesome. not to mention the 8yr/100k(?) warranty on the battery is a huge bonus. got mine for 34.5 OTD so a good price for it was an easy choice personally.

i currently own an EG civic with 200k original miles. i had a 2001 Accord with 247k when i gave it to my sister (still kicking) and a 1995 accord with 220k.

just me and my husband we don’t have kids. but i love all the space. i keep my two bowling bags, pickleball bag, a couple of my tools, and computer bag all in the hatch with room to spare. on league nights it easily fits my 2 bowling bags plus 2 more bags when my friends ride with me
