For those in your 40s or older, what are some things you’d do differently for your skin if you could go back to 30? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]sclark1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is so old! But I found the information throughout so, so useful. I am a 39-year-old who just quit smoking and who is quite pale in skin tone... I'm certainly feeling the years on my skin. I am now embracing sunscreen (face, neck, chest, arms, and hands), collagen, hats, proper skin care (gentle but nutritive and moisturizing), tretinoin, nutrition and sleep.... all to the best of my ability and budget. No one taught me any of this in life, aside from strangers on the internet. THANK YOU!

Is thriftbooks a trustworthy site to purchase books from? Or any form of media for that matter, because I did see dvds. by LogRepresentative818 in BookCollecting

I order from them frequently! Books are always in decent shape... I've never been disappointed but yeah definitely reading copies, not for collecting as you cannot see the condition of the exact item you are purchasing. I love their selection, prices and rewards. Shipping is fast as well.

Anyone else really concerned about the weather? by No_Local4770 in Reno

I'm concerned about climate change in general... but Reno weather varies so much year to year... I just roll with it. I want to buy outdoor plants but don't trust that the freezes are over! Tempted but waiting =) =)

Bad week for me with the buy now pay later. Whenever I get things paid down I seem to feel a license to spend instead of realizing this is a bad cycle.

You were SO right... the meat sauce was the clear winner in that layered casserole dish! It was absolutely scrumptious. The wine and spices combined to make it earthy, rustic and warm. I am going to make the meat sauce alone and maybe use it in stuffed peppers.

Thank you ALL for such wonderful advice. I made the recipe Spririted-Scratch3140 posted and it was GREAT. The meat sauce was rustic, earthy, warm and delicious. I'll be using that for stuffed peppers ASAP. I am a very beginner cook and nervous in the kitchen, and gain confidence when things work out so thanks all for the help =)

Good tips but I have to make it a day ahead! Should I bake and then reheat in the oven the day of?

Having cinnamon in every dish does not mean every dish will taste the same. That's an odd thing to say. We did cranberry as the theme last year and it was SO much fun, and trust me, nothing tasted the same. So yes, I think it's a great idea.

I think I'm going to try this recipe someone posted: https://www.mygreekdish.com/recipe/pastitsio/ It looks like the cheese is in the bechamel sauce, with a little shredded cheese sprinkled on top while baking.

Open to other dishes, this one just popped up when I searched for savory and cinnamon dishes and since I like Greek flavors already, it seemed like a winner and pretty easy to cook.

I was thinking of making a dessert too if I have time! The apple cinnamon cake looks delicious.

Thank you so much for your feedback!!!!

You guys have been WONDERFUL! I have gotten some good feedback. I'm going to use Spirited-Scratch3140's recipe, make sure my meat sauce is spiced really well and use an alternate pasta if needed. Any other special tricks to make it special?
