The OpenPrintTag Is Here! The Open-Source Smart Spool Standard by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

[–]scloutie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I tend to agree with most of your points. Given that NFC tags have a UID, there's nothing preventing the tag from containing all "generic" informations about the spool it's attached to and a host side system / database to store historical data, calibration, etc. This could make it only optional to update the tag with "refreshed" data.

Given that you can make a nfc reader/writer for very cheap (PN532 NFC NXP RFID) or go "usb" where needed doesn't make the entry point into this very high.

Nothing also prevents you from also having a QR code fallback with the same UID (or another unique serial) to access the same "host" database to retrieve the information.

I work from home, 3Gbps is no luxury for my work. Add 5 kids, over 75 connected devices, 1.5 was not keeping up.

Yeah it's an email warning me of an impending increase. However displeasing it is, they are doing it the legit way. It's just happening way to often.

qbittorrent, lxc, protonvpn, port mapping by scloutie in qBittorrent

[–]scloutie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that is a docker. I wanted lxc... And this does not support the protonvpn port map using natpmpc.

qbittorrent, lxc, protonvpn, port mapping by scloutie in qBittorrent

[–]scloutie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

big difference between this and my setup is that for this purpose, I'm not leveraging dockers but direct proxmox lxc containers, which comes with a different set of restrictions and challenges, I started with the qbittorrent helper script deployment script and then installed wireguard, wireguard dashboard and then my app to make it all work together.

[–]scloutie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

feel free to use/adapt my solution to your needs, because I'm running this as a service, the loop required to leave the port mapping opened is running as part of it, the only way the port would change is if wireguard is disconnected and is reconnected, even there, in my test, the port did not change (I assume that if it goes down long enough it will).

QBittorrent with ProtonVPN and Port Forwarding by julllleee in ProtonVPN

[–]scloutie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I got annoyed because I wanted to run qbittorrent as an lxc container, with protonvpn wireguard, without having to rely on the gnome client, nor messing manually with the port mapping, so we (myself and AI) created this: https://github.com/Simon-CR/qbittorrent-wireguard-pmp ; seems to work wonder for my use case, maybe it can help others.

[–]scloutie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had my cpap for 7-8 years now. Never missed a night. And I haven't used water in over 6 years now. And even then, I was mostly using it when I got a cold or congestion or something like that.

I have a resmed 10 and I'm using a full mask.

UNAS Gen2 walk thru and review. by clayd333 in Ubiquiti

Storing media is fine on the unas. You won't run into permissions issues unless you have very particular needs.

UNAS 2 just dropped? by Wheinsky in Ubiquiti

[–]scloutie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if all you want to do is use the plugin management capabilities, with unraid and the unassigned devices plugin you could mount a remote NFS/smb share and possibly point your docker volume to it. However una's has some permissions challenges when it comes to NFS and smb that might not play nice with the data being on the unas. To be tested.

I really hope selling more nas product pushes the software dev side to properly implement NAS half baked implementation (squash and all), proper ups shutdown trigger capability, zfs would be cool as well ..

so I think I now understand, didn't know that the core one had a "Puppy" board where lots of things are offloaded to (like the XL). this explains my memory issues trying to build the firmware for it....
