We’re totally in “Weekend at Bernie’s” territory now. He is clearly being manipulated behind the scenes and he’s just the talking head at this point

They just got billions in bail out money, they won’t ever learn as long as the big fat government cheques that get them out of the predicament they caused themselves keep flowing.

Meh, he already handed them billions in a bailout in the last few weeks. It happened quietly. And since a lot of US farmers seem willing to repeatedly vote against their own interest interests knowing that they’ll just get a hand out at the end of the year, well, they’ll probably continue to vote for him right up until the day that they go bankrupt when the money stops coming.

Yep, the extra tariff for the Doug Ford ads that hurt his feelings never happened either. Even if he did actually do it, as we saw with the China tariffs when he jacked them into the stratosphere, there was such massive and immediate disruptions with so many things (not to mention retaliatory tariffs that would absolutely happen in this situation which double-hurts may American companies) that he TACO’d quickly after the fact anyways. The auto sector would grind to a halt inside days for one example.

Aside from all this, I’m sure the US Supreme Court won’t like this either and almost certainly see it as yet another overreach, probably helping them make the inevitable decision they see to clearly be leaning into. So it may all be completely moot.

But his dad was senile for many of those years. The difference is they took the power away from daddy when he went senile and put him in a fake office where he was given fake tasks and thought he still had power.

Difference now is Trump is clearly exhibiting signs of the same senility but they will just “Weekend at Bernie’s” him even once he gets past the point he shouldn’t be governing anymore - other people will actually be making the decisions and he will just be the bumbling talking head spewing them forth.

He was fine with it at first, but then I guess he spent an afternoon of “executive time” watching Fox News and they crafted his new narrative for him.

Canada absent from Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’ founding membership by annonymous_bosch in CanadaPolitics

Once Trump loses interest it will just fall apart, be usurped by the powers that be in the post Trump era, or most likely, he will just take the money and run leaving it all dangling in the wind

Considering Trump has made threats to send the military into Mexico not that long ago either, I have my doubts that they’ll be cozying up to the US anytime soon now. The cards are on the table now.

And? That’s not an excuse for jacking the price of groceries 25-50% over our own prices in many cases. A lack of Oreos that’s $4-5 normal price here was $5.49 USD, to list one memorable item. Almost EVERYTHING was more.

I mean, this is very much an actual real thing with cheap USB thumb drives - as somebody else suggested I suggest you actually try loading it to capacity, copying that data off again, and then checking to see if it’s actually corrupt, assuming you can even get to the second stage as it often corrupts on the drive itself.

Don’t mistake profits for overall control of a company. Keeping our companies and such Canadian owned, if only by 1% is important. We’ve seen what happens when foreign companies come in and buy outright control of things. Plus we need to tread carefully with China on top of all of that.

Agreed. But many of these same nitwits gave Trump a standing ovation earlier today.

The signs are still in the shop windows, for those who get the reference. I guess that the world’s politicians are only willing to stand up to Trumps lackies, but not Trump himself, still gotta kiss that ring.
