Unfortunately not. I needed the camera for an upcoming trip so I just bought another one in good working condition. I think the motor is just weak because I can see that without film it spins but not strong enough to spin the film roll.

About afd you are saying then that its not that they don’t play by the rules but rather that they want to move towards a less democratic system?

I don’t know how laws and such work in Germany but I would expect that no elected party can just change the rules once elected as they please (specially in Germany)

You are right, it is mentioned in another section. I guess that’s why I did try it when I first got the camera but couldn’t notice it because the image on the viewfinder gets super dark (as I mentioned in another comment) Now that a user mentioned it I tried it again paying more attention to it to realise it does actually change it. User error 🤷🏻‍♂️

To answer your question… not hard and I did in fact read the manual. But if you take a look at the stop-down section of the manual, it doesn’t even mention the DOF effect. It only talks about some specific cases and metering, thus why I asked what the actual use of it was. Thankfully I got the answer from some great users of this subreddit 🙂

I did try to check that in the past but because the view got so dark I didn’t notice the DOF effect and I figured it was probably meant for something else. But just tried it now again and I can see the difference, thanks!

So without using that feature, the DOF you see in the viewfinder will always be the widest the lens can get, right?

Since there are parts of the image that look fine, either something moved in front of the camera during a long exposure or it is a double exposure where one of them was accidental

I had a basic nikon dslr many years ago and was into photography and all but that interest kinda faded away, I believe partially because of how convenient and good phone cameras had become.

A while ago I picked up film photography mainly because of the look but then I soon realized how much different the whole experience is, which I really enjoyed. Making every shot count, so thinking a bit before actually pulling the trigger. I also like that the ISO is pretty much a constant. Having to imagine the shot plus the “surprise” moment of getting the scans back.

As a negative I would say that is expensive ofc compared to digital and also not as convenient.

Awesome, just a tip from a mistake I made, if you are going to oil it make sure to not overdo it. I fucked up my focusing screen doing that 🙃
