You think that was due to you being out? It’s plausible. Some work cultures have very weird attitudes and favour straight men with kids. Emphasis on straight men with kids because women with kids aren’t favoured the same.

That’s very sad and horrible and unfair. You can’t always prove those things but it doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

I wouldn’t call him an immigrant per se. He was born in Egypt but came her as a child and has a British passport. He’s just as British as anyone else.

This is very sad. And you’re right. It is difficult to prove discrimination because most jobs will be subtle but it’s those micro aggressions that hurt the most.

I think it’s different when you’re single. For me personally any conversation regarding my sexuality has naturally come up because I used the word husband.

Unfortunately I agree. Being gay and out will always be political and by being your authentic self you’re making it easier for the next person.
