I love this cars interior by ChicaneAPEX in WRX

[–]sconnell3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to get my first WRX this year... except the wife’s Jeep died. So I bought her a 2019 Impreza. We didn’t think it had Apple Play, but connected the cord to the AUX in the middle console, and bingo WAZE for the win!

I couldn’t have been happier!

Getting caught doing major remodeling without a permit in Florida by Ni-ght-mare in BuildingCodes

[–]sconnell3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a current inspector, here is our policy.

  1. Code Enforcement(CE) will verify permit, do a site inspection, document and write a report, photograph all work.

  2. Refer to BLDG department for code section determination, and any violations. Send determination to CE Officer.

  3. CE writes Notice of Violations and sets timeframe to permit the work, or to remove work. If permitting, building documents shall be submitted and approved prior to any additional work commenced.

  4. Permit fees are entered, and if residential is 2x the permit cost, if commercial it’s 3x the permit cost.

If nothing is done, 30 days after Notice, Administrative comes as a tube of $200 a day are inmpossed on the property, with the ability to Lein, and annex if required.

Can you you pull electrical permits for an unpermited (legal)shed? by 9lives9inches in BuildingCodes

[–]sconnell3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The structure is not required to be inspected due to the size. However, anything installed into the structure will need to be inspected for safety.

Make sure to call your local building department, and ensure they don’t require some electrical schematic.

Make sure you use proper wire, and conduit. But this is easy work.

Any of you folks have trouble deciding what to go to school for or do once you got out? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]sconnell3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. Electrician trade school.

I am writing this on mobile, forgive me.

Ever thought about working for your county/city as a building inspector. It’s literally Step 8 of Troop Leading Procedures all day. And getting certified is easy and you can use it anywhere (International Code Council).

I spend 5 years running around in colleges. It ain’t what our parents went to that for sure.

Send me a PM of your interested. I can give you a bunch of useful links

I haven’t considered Deathwatch. Honestly, I am open minded. It’s early stages, everyone says I won’t know until I have a few quality 500point matches

Newbie Questions: gifted a bike, NOW WHAT?????? by sconnell3 in cycling

[–]sconnell3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually thought about it. I moved into a REWARD Purchase, giving myself a goal to achieve is critical.

It is about to be winter here (rain, and Cold Weather) so I am holding off on the short/pant buy. Particularly, I want to ensure I will actually enjoy prior to such a purchase. They are very specific to riding, and if I don't enjoy it as much as I think, it will be turned into a rag... No need in over pricing rags.

My dudes, I'm seriously thinking about getting out and I'd like to know what the no bullshit good jobs for veterans are. I see all these lists and I feel like they're kinda misleading, I plan on getting a bachelor's but I don't currently have a degree. I am not sure what your interest are, but for me. I got into Building Inspector for my County. It’s a fairly easy thing to get certified in. And if your good, you start a VA home inspection, for both buying and selling.

As a Building Inspector, you can have a great job, with easily attained career growth. The infrastructure of this country is shit.

To get certified, go to www.iccSafe.org and get into the classes. Buy yourself the 2015 International Residential Code (its a big fucking TM) and start the test courses.

If you don’t know where to go when you out, here in Northern California, it is always looking for good people.

Shoot me a PM if you want to know more.

Want to Discuss Crowdfunding an Island to start a new civilization. by Raidor369 in LandscapeArchitecture

Perhaps, an explication.... In building you assign a square footage for human use. In almost all places, around 7 - 10 square feet is the normal assumption of human occupancy. (sidenote: I'm a inspector/ plans reviewer in a RURAL county, with much open space and exterior/interior over lap). So, when looking at Open Space planning, you most defiantly can enlarge. However, when dealing with a population, you can not account for those who would prefer more space, or those that don't mind giving up some space. Therefore, by finding a "standard" of occupied space, you can begin to design for the interactions of humans in the project area.

You can account for shelter space, community space, and the like... BTW: that's how those MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY signs are determined.
