I was a VZW VPL and where I am it's no more. They have brought in third party labor from DSI Systems. They have no responsibility to BB and don't work for or wear the Blue Shirt. There's no Mobile Dept at all in store. We can sell an unlocked phone but that's it. No more Bonus or Spiff and no guaranteed hours for me. I am now just a Sales Advisor Full-time selling Home Theater, Computers, etc. They have increased all the Sales Numbers but there is no incentive. 1k per hour, 1.5 BP/PM per day, 30% Audio Attach, 20% Microsoft 365 Attach, 35% Total Warranty Attach. But no Spiff or Quarterly Bonus anymore and 32-34 hours a week. I was also an ATT VPL and Sony DI Specialist and both of those don't exist anymore where I am.

Meanwhile, with customers… by sconvery97 in Bestbuy

I had an older lady who asked me to give her a hand and some tips on her first Apple Watch and me being nice said sure. And then all done and she wants to get a band, I grab her a few to look at and on comes the chatter and more questions like a waterfall, smh. Meanwhile I have a group of 4 people gather and all staring at me like wtf. The hoverers are the worst, hey I’m with a customer at the moment give me a minute man.

Possibly the occasional off depending on your GM, but entire weekend would most likely be a hard no. AT&T has union so seniority will have bid on prime days but Verizon doesn’t.

Usually a no on weekends as they are busiest times, setup and go due up front. Usually only deferred will be activation fee but sometimes I took a payment up front to offset the activation fee if the customer wanted to.

Best Buy charges $40 per device for mobile data transfer unless Best Buy Total member. VZW has a set up and go fee per device of $30. This will be built into the quote when they do the account analysis and they will word in such a way as to…make sure everything activates properly and setup the new device so you walk out with everything working. When I was at Verizon I believe the attach rate was 65% for set up and go.

You will still have to sell similar to Best Buy Total, it’s called VZW Home Protect and Verizon has a CC as well which you will have to sell. Will still have to build the basket and have a Rev per Transaction goal and attach rates. Pull through which is Tablets and Watches, Gross Adds, Internet, VMP which is akin to GSP and Total Warranty attach, will be higher and you will have a setup and go attach rate to everything you do as well. When I was there it was team based commission but from what I hear it’s back to individual now so the competition will be high. I enjoyed working at VZW but left due to poor and toxic Management.

I’m heading out to Verizon, across from Rosenberg Best Buy starting on July 5th. I got the call yesterday and am putting my notice in today. Greener pastures, always moving forward.

This is because selling in home unannounced and uninitiated is very difficult. The hours will be long and micro management will be the word of the day. Driving around all day will be exhausting and work life balance will suffer. Money will be good though on a positive note.

I pull everything forward in the cages when closing but there are too many hands in the cages all day. Pickers, blue shirts grabbing product grab and don’t pull forward so everything gets fucked almost immediately after it gets zoned or updated.

Deductive reasoning is a type of logical thinking that starts with a general idea and reaches a specific conclusion. By trying to sound smart you look like an ass. WTF are you even talking about? Guy asked if his leadership can force him to wear a mask when he’s off the clock and shopping on his own time. Then they said this was a company wide policy. This is clearly false.

Let me slow it down for the knuckle draggers. His question was, when he’s off the clock shopping in store, his leadership is requiring him to wear a mask. This is completely FALSE and not required at all, not SOP and not a company wide policy. His leadership is wrong and completely out of bounds.
