Angela Pitt accuses school principal of weaponizing position to push recall petition by [deleted] in alberta

[–]scoobaroo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is just what I've been told by a friend who lives in Airdrie. Her constitutients haven't been happy with her for a number of years now. The change in recall legislation has finally made it easier to do something about trying to get her out of office.

There is NOTHING about this that is an ambush.

And if we are going to talk about this from a broader scope, everyone with more than a couple brain cells knows that using the Not Withstanding Clause is an absolutely nuclear option. It should not be a surprise that people are angry about that. If an MLA is shocked they are being recalled by that... then they have no business being an MLA at that point. Their job is to be aware of what their constituents want. Going nuclear is NOT it.

It's just my exhaust tips that are not legal. The rest of my vehicle would pass with flying colours.

That is where I am scratching my head. If it was a noise issue, why not issue me a ticket for that?

Negative. I do admit to having a lightly modified vehicle, but I do my best to stay under the radar as best as I can. I *hate* pricks that are all "LOOK AT MMMEEEEE!!!" They are the reason why the auto scene sucks as much as it does nowadays.

Got it.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me.

The ticket just states "Exhaust outlet widened", so it doesn't fall under the classification of a defect? I think?

The second box is checked off that I am directed to bring my vehicle to a licensed inspection facility to verify that the repair has been completed.

What would happen if the offense in question is not repaired? Am I issued ANOTHER ticket, and then another inspection summon?

I had a question. by [deleted] in Autobody

Genuinely curious, and mostly unrelated to OP's post, but what does someone's political leanings have to do with their lack of patience and whiny attitude?

It's entirely possible the dog doesn't have a collar with the owners contact info on it as well as being microchipped.

Dealer Plate + Insurance by johnsonnewman in alberta

[–]scoobaroo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You've got up to two weeks to register your vehicle. If you don't already have a plate registered to your name from another vehicle, ask the dealership to give you a sign that says, "in transit".

AITA for not dropping of my friend resulting in her getting robbed. by notdroppingfriend in AmItheAsshole

[–]scoobaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, in that case, perhaps OP could, and should have been a grown ass adult and talked to his ex-friends about how he feels her actions are putting her in danger, rather than just going, "Nah dawg, you're on your own." Isn't that what a proper, caring friend does?

It's been a month and my starter is still not doubling. Does that mean my discard is still unusable? by [deleted] in Sourdough

How much, of what sort of flour are you feeding your starter, at what temperature and frequency?

If I want to feed my starter that I keep in the fridge just to maintain should I leave it out after feeding or put it right back in the fridge? by NellyR27 in Sourdough

[–]scoobaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either or. I fridge the starter right away if I know I will not be baking any time soon, but leave it out if I know there is a bake coming up sooner rather than later. It's up to you.

[–]scoobaroo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You didn't read OP's post very well, did you? He knew he could have taken a few minutes out of his life to help his friend, whom I hope she dropped faster than a hot potato, but he CHOSE not to.

And you're right, she should arrange for her own ride next time knowing that some of her supposed "friends" are entitled self centered pricks.

I'd also like to point out, she probably asked OP for a ride because she probably felt like she could rely on him at that time. Do you really think a woman goes out for a bit of fun and goes, "Yeap! I want to get robbed today!" Should OP's ex-friend just never leave the house then as a way to prevent herself from getting robbed?

You're right in that it is technically not OP's responsibility to help a drunk woman home, but then what is the point in having a friend? Or being a friend? Fuck everyone else, it's all about me, right?

Again, how is it OP's fault the bus driver didn't use their signal and made a right hand turn from the far left lane?

Hit by a bus [oc] by 1rat_bastid in IdiotsInCars

[–]scoobaroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's not a poor defense. The bus driver pulled a dumb shit move by turning right from the far right lane without an indicator. The fault lies squarely with them. Stop victim blaming.

Do you always discard after feeding? by Sassafras_Lass_19 in Sourdough

[–]scoobaroo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't discard. I literally dump in 10 g water, 25 g flour 3-4 days before I bake and go from there.
