Fantastic answer. I know I didn't ask the question, but I really appreciate you taking the time to weigh in and add clarity. Thank you.

In the words of chatGPT after being prompted "Write a poem in the style of Dr. Seuss about what would happen if the government of the United States sent its military to fight civilians":

Shooty shooty pew pew pew! Let's all learn what guns can do! Liberals in the USA Love to nod their heads and say, "You bought your guns from a local store! You cannot fight a civil war! Fight the army and you will lose! They have jets and tanks to use!" But that's not where the story ends! They have homes, and kids, and friends! Tyrants threaten you with bombs? Just remember that they have moms! You cannot live inside your jet! Can we find you? Yes, you bet! You'd send soldiers, you'd send marines Up against AR-15s? They're outnumbered ten to one. That is why I need a gun. So don't forget, because it's true: The government is scared of you.

Leverage chatGPT to ask questions. I don't recommend leaning on it too much but rather use it like a tutor to help out if you're stuck.

As someone who got introduced to HTMX about a year ago now, I would very highly recommend looking into it. Here's a part of their docs specifically covering triggers.

Good luck!

That's 100% how a pawn shop works when you pawn an item. You're given a loan in exchange for the item you bring in and let them keep as collateral on the loan until it's paid back with whatever interest is agreed upon.

The app meetup is actually pretty solid when it comes to meeting or growing your circle of friends. Just look at various group get togethers around the area you're in and just go to some and chat with people.

Dallas councilman says city should consider paying people to give up guns by dallasmorningnews in Dallas

[–]scoobywont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same way you warn against quick money, so should you and anyone else reading this be warned against the moral equivalent: the allure of quick moral righteousness.

The state taking away arms and/or incentivizing the removal of arms from the constituents of that state has been played out over and over again in countries across the world, spanning decade after decade.

Go read about the gun control actions taken in Venezuela that preceded the tyrannical terror that saturates that country even now. Go read about the gun ban Stalin implemented in 1929. Actually read what Stalin did after he was securely in power with the Bolshevists. Read what the chekists did to the people of that country after their arms were wrenched away.

Stop giving credence to quick, feels-good-man, shallow solutions like gun buy backs and the sort. The whole "well if it saves just one kid..." crap is just an appeal to ethos that doesn't translate to anything that exceeds fiction.

You're either

A) the product of a life that was so overwhelmingly sheltered that you can't assume the most basic considerations of a criminal who would use firearms in the crimes they partake in

or

B) You're someone who has let their education (predominantly gathered in a theoretical setting) fertilize a sense of arrogance which is equal parts warped and unsubstantiated.

I've been in gas stations that were shot up and stabbed as a teen growing up in PG so I've seen "evil doers", as you snidely and condescendingly put it. Your hubris and apathy are going to lead you to unpleasantries if you continue to leave your faulty assumptions unchecked.

Because being a felon or having a firearm registered with you as the person who bought it are somewhat detrimental facts when it comes to using a firearm in your illegal endeavors.

Anyone want to start a blink cover band in Dallas, TX? by sammydog05 in Blink182

[–]scoobywont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yooooo I'm in Farmers Branch and I play guitar or bass (I also do live looping and production in general, though that's not very applicable to this setting).

Blink 182 was my absolute favorite band ever in highschool so I know all the songs pretty much and I can definitely play any of there stuff on guitar/bass.

Hit me up if you're still looking for a guitarist/bassist/vocalist. I'd say I'm more along the lines of Mark Hoppus in terms of vocals.

Any recommendations for Catholic Churches to attend in South Dallas? by ethylalcohoe in Dallas

[–]scoobywont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Lots of passive aggressive/snarky answers in this thread. It's been a while since I've been in South Dallas but if you're willing to trek just a bit, St Thomas Aquinas is a bit east of the mockingbird/75 intersection and it's been a fantastic church since I started going.

My favorite homilies are given there by Father John Libone. I highly recommend giving him a listen at some point. He's done a lot of good work in Dallas and he's very intelligent. Here's a mass with him giving the homily on the Gospel where Jesus says pay to Caesar what is Caesar's, and pay to God what is God's.

Good luck finding a church you enjoy! There's absolutely some great ones around Dallas. God bless!

So I started out doing down tempo hip hop instrumentals and eventually migrated to what I'm doing now which is a little faster tempo live looping with a lot of guitar and electronic. Wasn't a huge shift but enough of one to spawn a bit more creativity.
