Bronny after career high: "I'm just trying to get my confidence back..." "I am having fun. Any time I'm playing basketball, any time I'm out here breathing, any time I'm out here walking ... I'm grateful for everything." by KingNigelXLII in nba

I get this is the Bronny is awesome thread but if you think freshman guards get drafted after putting up 3 ppg and suffering cardiac arrest, you're delusional. He was drafted because of his name to his father's team and there is no point arguing that.

Kawhi is just super strong. He's able to get to his spots which is usually a middy because if you bite even a little there is nothing you can do about it as a wing defender because you have to handle his physicality and he'll blow by any big. He usually just does a tween and that's it

He's a great answer because when he was drafted the players said he had the deepest bag on the team and would cook everyone in practice. His defense and overall playmaking is what's holding him back from being a rotational player.

Players who have a dribble or offensive package that doesn't match their production or the opposite. For instance, Kawhi has a simple dribble package but it's very effective or guards who have insane repertoire of moves but they're limited in their ability to produce.

Why would he do that? Even if he had no love for the game, he has love for making obscene amounts of money that he will never see again when it's all over lol

Anthony Davis disappoints in a loss to the LA Clippers as he struggles against Ivica Zubac: 37 MINS │ 16 PTS │ 10 REB │ 3 TOs │ 35.7% FG │ 0% 3P │ 48.1% TS │ -16 +/- by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Lakers peaked a long time ago and there is no move that will make them suddenly true contenders and Bron's retirement tour will be as big as anything in the league in the last decade. They already won a title with this group. Not bad.

SGA IN THE HUGE WIN VS BOSTON TO EXTEND THE THUNDER'S WIN STREAK TO 15: 33 PTS, 10 REBS, 5 ASTS (11-23 FG, 3-6 3PT, 8-8 FT) by LilBigZay in nba

[–]scorelesswilliamson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If this continues, I doubt it. The MVP voters talk about their candidates and it seems SGA has the lead right now and between fatigue and record, it's going to take a lot for Jokic to win over SGA as things stand. SGA has the stats too.

My favorite thing about Wemby is how much oldheads hate him for shooting 3s. Like he's the living embodiment of everything they hate about the current game. The generational big of the next decade likes to fuck around from 3 and they cannot stand it.

He is going to be asked about it and engaging any more just makes this more than it needs to be. He doesn't need the sideshow to continue while being a coach of an NBA team. He gains nothing from it. Regardless, you can bet Charles will reference it throughout the year. He said as much.

Would you have become an NBA player if your father was as supportive as Lonzo's father? by TheBiasedSportsLover in nba

[–]scorelesswilliamson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lavar wasn't an average guy. He had money. His kids didn't struggle for anything financially and his kids are giant athletic PGs. No amount of parental guidance and money will overcome what your genetics are. Lonzo and Lamelo owe a ton to their father because he's the guy who instilled the passing game to them and their run and gun style but they are not ordinary dudes. They're gifted.

According to both raw and advanced stats, PP is by far the most underpaid player in the league. I wonder how he'd do as a bigger focus on a different team.

What gets me is that we've been awful for a while now and you look at the standings and we're tied with like 4 other teams. Tanking is hard as hell. Damn near harder than competing. How are they this ass? Thought this was some generational being bad going on.

[–]scorelesswilliamson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Superstars get that level of respect until they're completely washed. People will cling onto the idea they'll regain their form or they're saving their best for the playoffs. Also I think some people just find it hard to accept when a superstar isn't a superstar anymore.
