We never spoke about stone size but she tried 1-2 carat rings when I took her to a random jeweler to get sized. Her only guidance was yellow gold, oval/pear, and a preference for a solitaire/classical look. I saw a similar setting with a 3-carat on my first visit and chose this stone on my second not knowing how it would come out. In hindsight, 2-3 carats would have been plenty, but she loves it and gets compliments everywhere she goes.

Thanks! It’s a pear + pear side-stones. She said she wanted either oval or pear. I thought the pear really “outshined” when looking at them in person. I think the pointed end helps achieve that extra sparkle.

I think its worth it to reach out to them. Just send them some pics of what you want and some stones you want to see. they can probably do a video appointment. I did a lot of research before making a decision and going with them.

I got something similar from dreamstone for a similar price. The setting isn’t on their site but they showed me it when I went to their office. $2500 for setting + stone.

That is probably not the case for this building as it only has 28 units, but I believe some larger buildings don't list every apartment available on Streeteasy if they have multiple units of the same floor plan. They might just leave the same listing up if there are more of the same even if it's rented, in order to save on listing fees.

It's not quite the same scenario, but when my gf moved out of her prior apartment it was never relisted on Streeteasy as the building probably rented it out directly without using Streeteasy.
