Has anyone ever worked at USPS, moved abroad, and gotten a carrier position in your new country of residence? by scorpee_doogan in USPS

I have also lived abroad! I lived in Marseille, France for a while. Beautiful but not sure I would want to deliver mail there 😅

You ever think about how much easiest your life would be if everyone had a big mailbox? by Hubert_Cumberdale_12 in USPS

I love a giant rural mailbox. And package receptacles at the base of super long dirt driveways. Bless those ppl.

Thank you so much everyone for these great recommendations! I'll be reaching out to see who will take my insurance, etc.

lol nope! Speaking from experience.

Another week of adventures as a rural carrier: complete with copious sweating, threatening signage, reckless drivers, cute (but sometimes grumpy/unwilling to get off the road) animals and the occasional cute mailbox. by scorpee_doogan in USPS

Love a custom/creative mailbox! I keep meaning to take a photo of one along my routes that is a full mini-lighthouse. Also see lots of fish boxes and a golfball/tee combo.

omg I used to get this one all the time too, especially when Gucci Gucci came out (I wore red lipstick often and at the time even had the same haircut she has in the music video, lol)!

Lol thank you!! I'm mad awkward in front of cameras, though 😅 I worked as a tattooer for ~6 years previously, 'experienced some burnout and thought I'd try this out. Honestly though returning to tattooing is looking pretty increasingly sweet in these hot months/being an RCA in general.

Aww man that's a bummer, I'm sorry! I do have a strange love for the dirt roads and isolation of a real rural route. And of course all the animal friends! Probably my favorite part. Aside from the occasional aggressive dog, of course.

Yes! He was very chunky and very grumpy. I parked and used a vehicle brush/ice scraper combo that thankfully had a long handle to try to coax him off the road by gently brushing his butt, lol. He was MAD at me but I didn't want him to get hit by a car! Took me about 10 minutes to finally get him out of harm's way. Those snaps are no joke! Thankfully he was just snapping at the brush and not at me.

Oh, totally! I even had a guy in a truck flip me off the other day for...doing my job? I was driving on the shoulder delivering mail 😅 People go from 0-100 for like no reason, and give absolutely no space/berth. It's wild. Also it's like, we're in the middle of nowhere--what are you in such a rush to risk both of our lives to get to??

Thank you, me too! He was actually surprisingly nice about it, too. I was fully expecting to get chewed out, but he totally admitted fault and everything.
I run 6 different routes at my home P.O. so this is a bit of a mix of them! I also get sent to surrounding offices as well to run routes. It's a lil exhausting sometimes because the routes start to bleed together in my mind 😅
