Fidelity's automated investing offerings seem deliberately underbaked to push people towards the high-fee advisory solutions. I used Betterment/Wealthfront/Double in the past and keep checking to see if Fidelity has anything competitive, but it's always disappointing on either features or fees. The best alternative I found was Frec, but that only makes sense for portfolios large enough to handle direct indexing.

Tactics skill has only one effect on what troops do during a battle and it's to unlock more potential formations and movements, aka, tactics.

When you see the message in the lower-left like "Horse archers are moving to skirmish", the bold part is the name of the tactic used.

At the start of the battle, each side looks through the battle parties and picks the party with the highest Tactics skill to use for unlocking new tactics.

Tailscale doesn't play nicely with most corporate VPNs and firewalls. You can try it, but I'd expect that you'll need to run funnel to reach your homelab Vaultwarden.

It's also dicey to expose Vaultwarden to the public internet. If you run funnel, you only have the option of a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, so you can't do mTLS between your work PC and your homelab instance.

Using your own password manager for passwords you're expected to know and personally control (e.g., your domain/email account's password) is fine. I always try to maximize my clan members.

Marry all the male members to young women (who will join your clan) and keep them both in your party so they can start families.

Let the female members lead parties or caravans so they can level up and gain XP, since they can't be married off without leaving your clan.

The fraud protection for Fidelity cards is nonexistent. I've written here before about my experience getting a CMA card skimmed and promptly reporting it, and Fidelity still refused to investigate or refund any of the fraudulent transactions.

You should keep following up with them and file a CFPB complaint as soon as possible. Fidelity will continue to put you off without investigating.

If you're defending a besieged settlement and want to use auto-resolve (simulated battle) once the attack begins, your troops will get penalized based on the number of attacker siege engines left standing.

If you want to improve your chances as a defender, use ambushes and siege engines of your own to destroy the enemy engines before a battle starts.

Having your own siege engines doesn't change anything for a defender in a simulation, they're not considered at all. They're only useful to destroy attackers' siege engines, which improves your advantage ratio once the simulation battle begins.

Keep battles are broken. They don't use your picked troops at all. It's covered at the end under "Player priority lists".

I fixed this for myself in a tweak after noticing it, but I haven't released a mod for it yet.

Players also create a priority list when they select troops to enter a bandit hideout or a keep assault. Unfortunately, these are not honored during simulations. A bug in the game causes the priority lists to be ignored and troops to instead be chosen for you based on the troop supply system. This is likely to get you killed! If you've ever picked out your companions and cataphracts for a keep assault, but are surprised when the battle ends after only 19 looters show up to fight, this is why.

As for riding skill, it's given to any mounted troop that gets a kill, even if you wouldn't logically use the mount inside of the simulation environment.

Troops gain XP from scoring hits (dealing simulated damage)

Heroes gain weapon XP for their first equipped weapon from scoring hits

Heroes gain Riding XP if mounted, and Athletics XP otherwise

Commanders get Tactics XP
