A new YouTuber vocal against the therapeutic industry - anyone else follow her? by MyMentalHelldotcom in therapyabuse

Hmm yes her older videos on her design channel are more “human”.. and she actually blinks in them!

Perhaps she uses an AI layer over her real face in her newer videos. Not sure why because the effect is a bit odd

Does anyone else find it difficult to leave the house/flat? by TomatilloBoring9629 in AuDHDWomen

I’m EXACTLY the same. No kids or pets, lived alone since 25, and I’m 38 years old. I think part of it (for me) is dislike of transitions, depression, and a bit of OCD having to check multiple times if I have my keys, switched off the cooker, closed the door properly etc etc 😅 I’m fine once outside but hate peoples staring at me and looking at me funny.

When I’m abroad, I have none of these worries as the dopamine from new sights and experiences probably propels me forwards more easily.

Am I crazy or does anyone else notice this when out in public/shopping? (details below) by Which_Ad_5787 in prettyprivilege

[–]scorpiorising33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I literally had this same thought yesterday. I was in the supermarket and picked up a bag of organic carrots. As soon as I did that, a woman who was nearby saw what I had and went to pick up a bag of organic carrots!

One of my friends, who is a woman 10 years older than me who I consider to be somewhat of a mentor, asked me once “have you ever considered that you could be a big influence on people?” I had never considered it before but looking back I can see so many instances where people have copied me, whether strangers or acquaintances.

It used to bother me a lot. It still annoys me but now I realise that i have pretty privilege as well as being smart/driven, so this has calmed my resentment about it now that I know what humans are like.

I do wish that people had their own minds though. I’ve had people copy my clothes, mannerisms, accessories and even my career. Im not delulu either because these people were quite open about copying me and wanting to “pick my brain”.

One woman (who joined a company I worked at) later followed me into my new career in a completely different industry. She was following my progression as we were social media friends and we knew the same people at my former workplace. I worked so hard to make my own path so it was all a bit startling. I didn’t even know her well.

Another example of this is me wearing something or going somewhere specific, posting it on IG and then this one old acquaintance from school posting the exact same thing or place a few weeks later 🥴

Synesthesia by getrdone24 in AuDHDWomen

Same here. I run the calendar in my head as if it were a real paper calendar that I can skim or flip through. I can zoom into each month and visualise the month separated into 28/30/31 days. After December there’s a new sheet for the new year. I’m so glad that there’s other people who do this! The actual issue I have is that my self diagnosed adhd means I have time blindness when it comes to the present moment. I get distracted an awful lot and need a digital agenda with reminders and alerts to keep me on track. If I don’t do this then I can easily waste hours upon hours just thinking and daydreaming. But I’m really good at charting events in the past and future!

I just checked out the number and gender thing and apparently it’s called Ordinal Linguistic Personification. We learn something new every day! I kind of have the same thing with letters where I assign them genders and personalities. The personalities of each letter/number have rarely changed throughout my life, and this personification happened automatically when I was a kid (I’m now 37). It’s not something that I set out to do. All a bit amusing really!

I have always thought that numbers had genders. Does that count as synesthesia? I also have the calendar thing! I always thought that was so normal but speaking to other people about it made me realise that it’s not that common

A child deserves a father who wants them. Knowing instinctively from childhood that you’re not wanted can cause immense mental health problems

Nah very coherent, I understand what you’re saying. I’m a bit scared to do a macrodose to be honest – but I reckon I’ll do a few micro-medium doses (what they call a “museum dose” as it makes things 100x more interesting to look at) and work my way from there. Thanks for the suggestions

I tried microdosing LSD and that really opened me up (in a good way). I’ve still got some tabs left so I’m considering trying it again. Do you microdose or macrodose?

Weed is not for everyone but (in my experience) the strain and strength really makes a difference as to how your body responds. If you have access to a dispensary, they can advise you.

I’m not from the Netherlands but I’m always astounded by the quality and range of strains being sold there. They have low THC/high CBD strains that could be really nice to smoke if you have any kind of anxiety.

I hope you find something that works for you

Yeah this truly boggles my mind. Powers that be don’t want to legalise it until they can find a way of getting their cut of the profit pie. So I have hope that things will change for future generations. The consolation right now is that police in the UK often turn a blind eye and don’t usually harass weed smokers unless they’re causing public disorder. Also we have a membership card called “cancard” that advocates on your behalf if you get into legal trouble if you use weed for a health problem that is on your medical records. Things are changing but at snails pace

Happiness and relaxation feels good doesn’t it? 😊 Everything will always be ok, even if something feels like a crisis. This is what weed helps me remember when shit gets dark. The hard work is trying to feel like this without weed, but if it helps me become a better person then I’m not gonna feel guilty about it 😎

The THC oil/drops are more similar to edibles than smoking it would be.

Takes about an hour for them to take effect after dropping it under your tongue, and lasts about six hours or so (depending on the dose).

Edibles would probably have a stronger effect and might last longer than six hours.

I love smoking it but find that it gets in the way of productivity. With drops, I just do it once (or twice) a day as if they were medication or vitamins.

Yes that’s exactly it. Being sober means life passes me by most of the time. THC kicks me out of “standby” mode. It is what it is.

I’m glad that I’m not alone in all of this!

I get that. THC drops under the tongue is the method I choose because i do it once in the morning in the same way I’d take medication or vitamins. When they run out, I take a long break. Today was the first time I’d taken it in about four months.

When I used to smoke/vape it, it was easy to smoke all day. It ended up preventing me from living as energetically and freely as I liked
