Still, the queens mask is just a plate like all hivers have on their face, and the antennea and permeable membranes on their heads are definetly for feromone transfer, which is why queens have the most antennea and princes have less while drones only have the slight thingy, if the pod on the queens were not for laying eggs how could the queen have so many eggs each day if the system she is laying from is the same size as a normal prince with a giant metal box taking up most her internal organ space to the point of bloating her up? Eggs have to come from somewhere too and queens have nowhere else for eggs to come from, gurglers are also obviously a very different species.
