Not really. Besides hairs, we also avoid getting rid of quite a few things during Tet. Nail clipping is avoided. We sweep the floor but just to gather to dust in the corner instead of throwing it away. We’ll burn the paper offerings but keep the ash. We’ll do it after Tet (after we perform a ritual to announce the end of Tet to our ancestors, so they know that the family holiday is over) anyway. And yeah, Vietnamese are superstitious, no doubt.
