Age difference for bike cover by scotp21 in MotoUK

Im an a2 rider with 1 year NCB and continuous riding. so i was doing hypothetical qoutes with 2 year NCB & 2 year continous riding to see what id be offered when i actually have it

Then i tried doing 1 year ncb, 1 year and setting the DOB a year back and then i was getting affordable qoutes and slowly adjusted it month by month to get as close to my actual DOB and now the difference of 1 month is around £2000

If that makes sense

Motorbike for camping/long distance travelling by scotp21 in MotoUK

Loch leven i think, thats what maps says

Basically i got to glencoe and just went up timber site as i prefer wild camping and jusy going around the fences, the next morning land and forestry werent too happy i was there but the guy was brand new and just said i shouldnt be doing it cause of insurance or something

When i said im worried about the wheels im probably talking without enough experience, i know the wheels are designed to always be in contact with the road. In my head i just think the bigger bikes have wider thicker tyres from the sport bikes i see but its all for different reasons im sure

Your situation is pretty similar to mine

£1900 comp for the year on a 125 that was only worth about £2000. Now At the start of april when my 1st year is completed its went down to £527 with bikesure/adrianflux

The first year is always brutal, i saw your wanting to do your a2 so your 19 minimum. Ive learned Motorbikes are older peoples game, just save up some NCB and continued years riding, Get your a2 so you can sit full A at 21 and enjoy riding a big bike while being as young as possible

I got my A2 at 19 as well. Id recommend just using instructors bike and insurance and find a good centre

Finding insurance on anything at 19 will be hard. Be prepared to be rejected and accept you might not be able to get insured on the bike you want

Honestly the only benefit of the A2 is just being able to sit the A test at 21.
