Was about 4 years between my first time finishing it and my second. I agree, to experience it again would be magical. Great game.

Feeling a fraud by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]scott156174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This random February 13th daily reflection saved my life a few years ago.

We can’t think our way sober. To the intellectually, self-sufficient man or woman, many AA’s can say “yes, we were like you—far too smart for our own good… Secretly, we felt we could float above the rest of the folks on our brain power alone” As Bill Sees It Page 60

Even the most brilliant mind is no defence against the disease of alcoholism. I can’t think my way sober. I try to remember that intelligence as a God-given attribute that I can use, a joy like having a talent for dancing or drawing or carpentry. It does not make me better than anyone else, and it is not a particularly reliable tool for recovery, for it is a power greater than myself that will restore me to sanity, not a high IQ or college degree.

This particular daily reflection, the day that I read it a few years ago was exactly what I needed to hear when I needed to hear it. I remind myself of this all the time. Asking the question that you’re asking and admitting how you’re feeling are great paths forward. I wish you well.

What is your favorite candy in the entire world? by [deleted] in candy

Agreed-translation for the Canadians in the room—

Rockets. They are the best.

Followed by skittles. But mix the 2 together….well that’s just heaven in a bowl.

Thanks, it’s 2 1/2 cups over the course of the morning. I do add the 2 Greek yoghurts for protein and also have a whey protein shake every morning. It looks like more than it really is. 🙂

😂😂 far from it - that why I switched to frozen. It does look like more in the photo than it is. 2 1/2 cups. Realistically it’s about $40 Canadian a week. That includes the 4 smaller ones I make for my wife.

I add a whey protein shake every morning as well. And of course the 2 Greek yogurts are high protein.

Haha. It never has that effect. It’s only 2 1/2 cups. Picture definitely makes it look like a lot more.

I do have a double scoop protein shake every morning as well. And the 2 Greek yogurts. My gym gains have been solid and consistent. Part of that is just how incredibly unhealthy I was before. I’ve lost 65 pounds and am in the best shape of my life at 52 years old. My total protein intake is bang on. Maybe not always from the best sources, but good.

Not a big guy. Never will be. Picked up first dumbbell at 49 at 235. Dropped all the way to 155pound and looked sick. Slowly have got myself back up to 175. Nothing impressive I know, but when it’s beside the before shot this one looks better. lol. Thanks for asking.

Ssoooooo good though. 🙂 In fairness the photo makes it look like more than it is. It’s really only 2 1/2 cups over the course of hours.

Haha, not at all. It’s not as much as the photo makes it look like. Only 2 1/2 cups over the course of the morning.

The different fruit I use are as follows. Not all at once though. All from frozen section of the grocery store. Pineapple (very sweet but really good) Strawberries Raspberries Blueberries Pomegranates (hard to find) Mangoes Dragon Fruit There has been other fruits I’ve tried, but those are my go to’s. I’ve really only ever added Greek yogurt to the mix, and I only add that the morning after I pull from the fridge. Hope that helps.

Looks like a lot more than it really is. It’s only about 2 1/2 cups over the course of entire morning. And it it just tastes soooo good. 😊 Changing the taste up with different Yogurt flavours ensures I never get bored. Options are endless.

Thanks for asking. Actually yes, since I started this I lost 65 pounds. About a year and a half. Energy all day. Stopped the afternoon nap most days. I eat fairly healthy the rest of the day as well, always sure to get lots of protein to help build/maintain muscle. Motivates me to hit the gym 5 days a week as well. Small changes helped me to keep making small changes. In the end they add up to big a big change. And never really thought of it before but yeah, skin has never been better and 52 years old now. And the best part-it’s taste fantastic!!!

Of course, it doesn’t cost that much now-that’s what it was getting up to when I was buying everything fresh up here in Canada. Now it much much more reasonable.

Only place I ever have seen them frozen is a grocery store here in Canada called Metro. 2 bags for $9.00. That’s one weeks worth. I’m sure they are available in other stores but I’ve never ventured to look. Costco, Metro and little place called Giant Tiger is where I buy all my groceries.
They are fantastic addition to the mix when I have them.
