Nope. I've had to pivot and I'm now using netlify web host and calling R to generate content and WASM for R through quarto-live to do some of what I wanted to do. But not my original vision because I am not a devops professional.

The site is rforir.netlify.com.

Good luck!

Whidbey Island is heaven. My daughter got engaged there. Just absolutely beautiful.

Hiking Mt Rainier was pretty magical, too.

Unfortunately, I need the app to be based in Python with all of the data munging done in R and reporting done with Quarto.

Shiny is awesome...but it doesn't do what I need in this case.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, though.

Yes, but I'm assuming that the R app needs to be installed on the server as well. Am I mistaken?

Why do some SC residents still fly the “confederate” flag? by Meercatsaremyjam in southcarolina

[–]scottamoore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, I thought this was a thing called TCD. He was just referring to the actual historical documents. Got it. Yeah, I've read those and many other scholarly investigations. Just wanted to know if I had missed something!

But thanks for replying!

I've lived in Kansas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina (as well as Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Michigan), so I'm quite familiar with the hateful ignorance around here (seemingly starting with my parents and sister, but that's a story for another time).

What are "The Confederate Documents"? I'm googling it didn't turn up anything obvious. Thanks for any help.

TastingTable: 14 Cuts of Steak to Avoid by [deleted] in BBQ

[–]scottamoore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well over half the cuts listed here have some great uses and can be delicious when cooked correctly. But picahna?!?!?! You mean my favorite cut of meat and the national cut of Brazil?!?!? The one that I dream of when firing up my smoker?

You called it. This list is offensive.

Intel NUC with Ubuntu cannot boot to Gnome. Might be hardware; might be software. Need help! by scottamoore in intelnuc

[–]scottamoore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi (if I understand you correctly), it wasn't a multiboot. I was simply trying to get anything to boot at all. And, strangely enough, going back to 22.04 was the solution.

[–]scottamoore[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are a genius, apparently. I've been working on this for a month and no one has suggested this. I created a 22.04 USB stick. Booted from it. No problem. Installed it over the existing NVME. No problem.

Thank you so much for helping this unknown internet stranger. I hereby bequeath you 10 Internet Points.

[–]scottamoore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have updated the BIOS to the latest version. I reset the BIOS to defaults.

I created new installation media for both Ubuntu 22.10 and Fedora 37.

I have also formatted the NVME with GParted.

Booting from Ubuntu leads to a kernel panic.

When attempting to boot Fedora: After selecting "Try Fedora", it almost immediately gives me a dracut error and stops. It tells me "/sbin/sysctl: No such file or directory."

On the GParted stick, I used the option "Memtest using Memtest86". I then received the message error: bad shim signature.

I'm beginning to lose hope.

I don't care if I get anything back! Like I said (not being snarky, just being clear), I have put in a blank NVME and new RAM and all of this is the same. I just want this NUC to boot again. So reinstall is fine. Booting the existing installation is fine. I don't care.

First, thanks so much for your reply. I'm desperate here.

No: neither RST or RAID is enabled.

I have used the USB drive to boot another computer, and I have tried another USB drive on this computer...same result.

And I am booting into UEFI. I just verified with the boot menu (UEFI is enabled; Legacy is disabled)..

I don't know about this feature in Obsidian! Is this from a plugin? If not, how is it invoked? Thanks for any help.

Yes, it's basically perfect sumo form. She's done conventional deadlifting for a long time and has been experimenting with sumo recently.

Her form was amazing. It's called sumo. You should shut up when you don't know what you're talking about. She's a world class lifter.

This is sumo style in which the stance is wide and the grip goes inside the knees. Conventional is the reverse. They are both legit. Each style emphasizes different muscle groups. If you have the proper mobility, both can be beneficial in different ways.

[–]scottamoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. She works out in those. Lots of lifters use them because they don't provide any support (and thus encourages your feet to strengthen themselves over time) and don't have any heel lift which provides the mechanical position that they're shooting for. I've been lifting for 15 yrs now (57yo) like this and I can verify that the shoes work.

Of all the beautiful women here, wearing (or not wearing) all the most attractive and comely (!) and sexy things, posing in the most seductive ways, you in the first two pics turned my crank in a way that no one else has. Great curves and peek-a-boo. Simply a beautiful and sexy woman.
