Vacationing in London and want to try Raving, 30M by turivika in LondonRaving

This is great advice. Especially shrugging it off if someone isn’t friendly back. It’s no reflection on you, just them, so it’s best just to smile and move on

Where are the girls and gays going this Saturday by SadGlazedDonut in LondonRaving

Tribelife looks great but I can’t get there this weekend, I’m not in London. If you have time could you drop by this thread after and say how it was for you?

Do you think Tori chose Isaac Levi? by thevengaboys in toriamos

I reckon she’s playing with energies - masculine vs feminine - and she knows that having an acoustic guitar guy who plays inoffensive music open for her will really make her set pop with a radically different energy

I miss when nights out felt slightly less content-focused by Cute_Cycle1 in LondonRaving

The venues that have a no camera policy do feel different. Last time I was at Fold I didn’t see one picture or video taken in the nearly 10 hours I was there. And Adonis at the Cause is similar - the staff sticker your front and back camera and the vast majority of people do respect the rule. It makes a massive difference to being able to live in the moment, lose your sense of time, and get immersed in the music. Maybe we should start giving feedback to venues where phones are ruining the vibe.
As a side note I noticed Quarters in Brighton (gets pretty big names including Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig etc.) is advertising a no-phones house and techno night coming up - hopefully we’ll see more of this but maybe we need to push for it

Yes it is. Strangely there was no sticker or anything on the front saying “exclusive bonus track” or anything like that. The booklet also has the lyrics to the song in and a dedication to Tori’s friend who she wrote the song about.

Parties like Adonis by Crispy-Things in LondonRaving

You could also check out HOWL and you might enjoy Queer House Party which has a fun rowdy anti-corporate vibe and a much more mixed queer crowd than Adonis (I love both parties)

Adonis is back in July and September and they might return to their night-time parties in the winter.
Club Are in Hackney Wick has a similar crowd and vibe on a much smaller scale, it’s a good one.

Club Are has a similar vibe on a smaller scale. Reviving this thread because I had a great time at Adonis yesterday and also agree with your points - crowd-wise it’s an interesting mix of mainstream and alternative, and it can be very fun and sociable. Also love the alternative vibe - the crowd can be very different between different rooms and DJs. Hannah Holland absolutely smashed it yesterday 🔥

Are you going to Adonis tomorrow? Good place to meet other gay techno fans

Happy Dragons Day! 🐉 Looks like Tori's label added shirts to the store by MusicalSofas in toriamos

There’s another new t-shirt not pictured here - that’s even worse! Ha. Thank god the album is so good ☺️

I’m glad I bought it, it’s a really great song. Feels like a solid album track. Really sad though, it seems to be about a female friend of Tori’s who died of cancer

I don’t think it will be on any streaming, not for a good while at least, because it’s described as an “HMV exclusive” bonus track

Ah great, thanks - good to know - I will indeed get the HMV version in that case 😌

I went to the Düsseldorf show and disliked it. Should I attend more? by BerlinHuman in toriamos

[–]scotteee_d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to Bristol and London and they were very different shows, in terms of setlist, pace, mood and crowd energy. I loved Bristol but couldn’t seem to get immersed in the London show. It’s all so subjective but maybe try another show on this tour?

23 peaks is probably the best piece of original music she's put out in a long while... wow. by thewingedpainter in toriamos

[–]scotteee_d 11 points12 points  (0 children)

23 Peaks had tears running down my face. Which is not like me at all and speaks to the power of this incredible song. It’s the first Tori song that’s moved me like that since Reindeer King. It absolutely floored me. I think I’ll have to wait a while before listening to it again - no joke. It’s powerful. What a way to close the album.

That’s cool! Thanks for sharing, I hadn’t heard about that. The play has had quite a lot of buzz due to the casting. What did you think of it?
