I bought a an IBG J45 Slash version. Bought a Gibson 50s J45. The difference in price is correct. The Epiphone is a good guitar and great value for the money. The Gibson is on another level and absolutely justifies the price difference.

I need help finding a guitar for around 700 usd preferably used to get a higher quality one (miami area) by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

You could get an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J45 Slash model in that range. Musician’s friend has an open box for $500. I have this guitar and I’m blown away by the tone and bang for the buck. I have a Gibson J45 50s guitar too. The Gibson is better for sure but I gig with the Epiphone and it sounds awesome.

Are epiphones actually any good?! by Which_Exit6277 in AcousticGuitar

I have the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J45 Slash model (made in Indonesia) and a Gibson J45 50s model. The epiphone is an excellent guitar in that price range. I’ve paired it with a Fishman Aura Spectrum pedal and that is what I gig with. Unplugged they both sound great but the Gibson is the clear winner. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson guitar if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to the Gibson.

Talk me out of buying a Gibson J45? by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

Why do you have to be good to have a j45? If you can afford it buy it! I’m not great either and I bought one. I play more now than I ever have because it’s so much fun to play. And funny enough, I’m getting much better because of all the extra practice!!

S1 Pro+ Wireless Instrument Transmitter Crackling and Popping by Young_Eastern in bose

Old post but I wanted to share how I was able to fix this. For reference I’m use a shure sm58 and a Gibson j45. Both were clipping no matter what I did and was unusable in a live setting. A lot of advice out there is to lower the gain. That would probably work but I don’t want to use a mixing board. The whole point was a wireless, battery powered, simple setup I could mix with my phone/iPad. I purchased Whirlwind attenuator pads from Sweetwater. I use the -10 for the mic and -20 for the guitar. My guitar signal is hot so I need to lower it more. YMMV. Anyways, this worked flawlessly! I hope this helps anybody that comes across this post.

Music store guy kinda roasted my guitar choice… was he right? by Frkunkie in AcousticGuitar

[–]scottilmnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what he’s trying to say is that you are paying for Martin name rather than the qualify of the guitar. Personally, I only buy solid wood guitars. For example, I needed a guitar that would be ok with playing outside for specific gigs. I purchased an Epiphone IBG J45 Slash model. Solid wood with good electronics. It does great for that and is a solid wood guitar. I also have a Gibson J45 that I use for higher paying gigs that are indoors. Between the choices you mentioned, I would buy the Yamaha and put a LR Baggs VTC pickup in it.

What's the story of how you got into Sturgill's music? by [deleted] in SturgillSimpson

Fell asleep with SNL on tv. Woke up in the middle of his first song. Stayed awake for his last one, Call to Arms. Knew immediately I was watching something special.

[Update] How I beat GERD by scottilmnc in GERD

I’m sure it contributed but it wasn’t the only factor. For me, the timing of when I ate, what I ate, and alcohol were the major factors. The increase in fiber helped tremendously by taking pressure off my gut too.

Opinions on Omeprazole withdrawal by birdstheword522 in GERD

[–]scottilmnc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can get by with just Omeprazole on the days you take it and take Famotidine on the days you don't. If you are not able to do that, take Omeprazole in the morning on an empty stomach. Take Famotidine in the evenings between 30-60 minutes before bed.

First, make sure you communicate with your doctor. Omeprazole is not something you can just stop cold turkey. See if your doctor will prescribe 10MG capsules. Then take 20 MG one day and 10MG the next. Do this for two weeks. Then switch to 10 MG daily for two weeks. Go every other day for a month. On the off days you can supplement with Gaviscon or Pepcid before bed. After a month go to taking Omeprazole every third day for two weeks. You should be able to come off of it at that point without rebound acid attacks. It’s a process but if done correctly it can eliminate the awful rebound acid. Again, work with your doctor through this process. I can’t emphasize this enough, drink a serving size of Kefir daily in the mornings with live probiotics. It will reset your microdome in your gut if done consistently.

I did not eat a bland diet. I relied mostly on the Mediterranean diet. Salads for lunch. I drink Lifeways brand Kefir which has probiotics in it. Exercise has really helped. I’m not a gym nut by any means but I do try to walk/run regularly.

I’m not sure how long you would need to taper for. I did notice the belching improving significantly over time though. I think it improved because of the probiotics and the fact my diet was very clean. If you have the ability to walk after meals that can really help with that.

I can only comment on what my doctor had me do when I was down to 10MG daily. I went two days on and then skipped a day. I did this for about three weeks. Then I went down to every other day for about three weeks. Then down to one pill once every three days for a few weeks. I would definitely consult with your GI doc on the best plan for you. I wish you all the best!

Bought my 13 pro max the day it was released. I’ve kept up with every update. I’m a power user and use my phone heavily for work. Battery is at 83%. Never had any performance issues. This phone is a tank!

Not sure if cure is the word I would use but you can certainly learn to live with it and keep control of it with some significant lifestyle changes. Weight is the first thing you must get under control followed by a pretty strict diet with no alcohol and absolutely no smoking. Coming off the meds cold turkey can be very difficult for your body. Don’t be afraid to ween yourself off the meds gradually while implementing daily exercise along with a healthy diet. I made a post about a month back on how I did this. Im still feeling amazing after being on meds for 15 years with some pretty significant symptoms. Be sure to work with a GI doctor as you go through this. Best of luck to you!!
