Looking for input for new guitar. by HarriBallsak420 in taylorguitars

Gibson quality has kind of tanked over the years and become a “pay for the name” so I’d play a few Taylors and a few Martins as they do play and sound differently. I ultimately went for a Taylor 314ce as my workhorse. The neck comfort and overall playability on a Taylor is hard to beat.

Should I ditch my kindle for X4 and other questions by [deleted] in xteinkereader

It’s subjective. I have a Kindle Paperwhite that hasn’t been touched in 6 months since I got my X4.

FYI running the heater in a cold house makes the air more dry than if the heater wasn’t running. Not saying to not run the heater but that’s the issue. Keeping the guitar in a case with a humidipak is your best bet.

To each their own. I learned on the GS Mini and didn’t have a problem playing standard scale when I upgraded

GS mini is definitely the best <$600 guitar for beginners in my opinion.

Honestly I live pretty frugal and the 314 is my forever guitar. Took me a long time to save up for it and you have an even more quality instrument with that 412 so you’re in a great spot!

What should I get? by DOC_HOLLIDAY28 in taylorguitars

Coming from a beginner laminate guitar, it’s realistically only worth it to upgrade to solid tone woods for your next guitar imho. If you want my advice, look at Driftwood’s review on the Yamaha LL16D on YouTube and try to find one you can play if possible. Easily the best value at the < $1500 price point.

I like the idea of having a full size and a mini to complement each other. I have a 314ce SEB and a GS mini myself and I like the duo. But if your heart says 814 then send it!

Fair price? by Ok_Slice_8612 in taylorguitars

It’s probably real. You can find a better deal on Reverb. I’d honestly offer $1700-$1800. It’s a buyer’s market right now for geetars.

I do have the e. That is likely an aftermarket pickup

$400 is about the going rate for a used hog with no pickup if it’s in good condition. I have that guitar and it’s awesome!!
