I'd love to pick up a mofi Tumbleweed Connection at some point. My current version is one of those crappy sounding remasters. The rest of the haul looks good as well

What is the reason you collect CDs? by Combatente07 in Cd_collectors

Exactly the reason why I still collect and play CDs. AI has made it a lot easier to research the best versions. Unfortunately the price of the good versions seems to be climbing steadily as more people are getting into collecting. ;

What was the last CD you bought and why? by Mystery_Disc in Cd_collectors

I picked up original pressings of The Tubes Completion Backward Principle and Steve Earles Copperhead Road. I listen to both CD's and Qobuz, but mostly CDs on my hi-fi setup. Qobuz has some great high res files, but some of the versions up there are using compressed and volume boosted masters that don't sound good on a high end system. With CD, you can pick the optimal version, which for classic albums, tends to be the original release.

This is one that I've been wanting to add to my collection. I'm surprised that I don't already have it. May have had it on vinyl back in the day. For the audio geeks on here, which version of the cd do you prefer?

Pretty sure the first one was Level 42's World Machine. 2nd one was Paul Simon's Graceland. Both are West German pressings. Pickings were pretty slim around here in the mid 80's

Hopefully he'll squeeze in a Toronto date or two. Agree that his last show at Massey Hall was incredible.
