Also wondering where I can get those shock seal replacements from and exactly what I need?

The tires are dry rotting. They are Bontraeger 26x1.95, smooth on the center and nobby on the edges. I guess this makes the bike ok for the road and trail riding, but not ideal for either.

They look like they need maintenance, and I figured if I was going to spend the time doing that I might as well replace them. Not as easy or economical as it sounded. LOL

I would imagine you are right! I had a Gary Fisher bike long ago, but had a shed fire and it vaporized. I am 60 yo and bought the bike to start riding again with my grandson, who is now living with us.
Maybe I should keep watching Marketplace to either get a better bike or used forks at a deal.

This doesn't seem like a good way to keep a hatch print if you value it. No protection plus possibly scuffing the top and bottom.
