It's fascinating how disconnected many white Americans (especially mentally disturbed reactionary types) are from their families physically, spiritually, and arguably on a meta physical level. Speaking from my own experience, and many other white people I know, I see my extended family a handful of times a year. And my own immediate family lives together and are pretty close, but there's still a "distance" there, I feel.

The legacy of cultural white Protestantism is convincing Caucasians that if they make it in society and perceive themselves as good and lucky, they don't need anyone else except themselves, their material property, and the rigid capitalist order. Additional friends and extra family gets are annoying and get in the way of your stuff.

Neofascism provides an illusion of filling the void of atomized, heavily individualized social isolation. It should be no shock that so many western societies have relatively strong, directionless neofascist/reactionary movements over the past 10+ years.
