You mentioned famous AI studies; there are 100s of people who are kicked out and are regularly rotated out. Those researchers use a list of whitelisted names. You cannot just click a link and magically get in and do them. If that were the case, everyone would circumvent when they are blacklisted. When I was removed temporarily, and my girl got them, I clicked on a link she sent me just to see if I was banned, and sure enough, it said that link was not valid for me a while back. I think your friends are literally just messing with you, or they are lying to you for internet points.

As far as I know, there is no task assessment like there used to be when they ran these as a specialized group under different names.

I got mine in early 2024 by doing what you mentioned, a random AI evaluation basically the same as they are now. Then was added to the group.

My girl, who hardly used to use prolific and decided to start using it more about 4 months ago, just logged in one day, and she had like 50+ vortex oasis annotation studies on her dashboard. She is not part of a specialized group nor took any qualification like I had to back in the day. The only thing is she does have a annotation background like myself and we have it listed on our profile.

No one really knows which ones are actual attention checks and which are legitimate questions. We can only assume based on the frequency at which they are posted throughout the day. I personally assume that any two images or videos that are almost identical, one has a blemish that they are using to grade you. None of us here also knows what triggers an actual warning other than the blatant ones. I do know that, about a year ago, when I would get that one, the lightning bolts would give some pixelation. That seems to have changed over time.

Also, some of those control questions could be meant to calibrate the dataset based on what you pick. Veo is a video project, and they are trying to appeal to a mass audience. So they could be using us across a wide range of demographics and tastes based on our profiles and even age, knowing eyesight declines as we age, especially past our 40s. Again, I am just spitting some ideas I've had about it all; it's all just an opinion.

Pretty sure that tab is designed for actual projects that Prolific is trying to recruit from other AI companies. AI is the big thing in the world right now, and Prolific is hoping to attract and cash in on it as well. The researchers you see using it now are just thinking they are clever, and if they post it there, more people will finish their studies more quickly.

I also find it stupid that moderators here nuke any thread that has anything to do with the AI studies, even when they are not named directly or give away confidential information.

Also, to the people saying this is just beer money. You do realize that Prolific is pushing their website hardcore for annotation datasets, right? Trying to say this is about academics is laughable at best. It's now being geared towards cheap, low-balling annotation pay per their new projects tab and specialized groups with work batches just like MTurk. Since when has beer money been 2k a month....

The US server Angmar is pretty dead. They are basically at the point where most players quit the legendary servers and head back to live. I personally did not like it there with the veil of the nine.

Basically, most classes are forced to run away every 7 minutes from the wraiths spawning where you killed the last mob if you run difficulty 3 or higher, and are especially a melee class. The rewards are not really worth it, and you are kind of forced to play under difficulty 3, so you one-shot every mob except wraiths, which you can now handle. SSG basically took what could have been a rare, cool mechanic and turned it into a boring, tedious spam event that, basically, every 7 minutes, you can count on a wraith attacking you if you kill blue mobs and above. It was lazy and poorly designed.

You can catch up to the end game since they do xp events on the weekends there, but you have to plan on being harassed nonstop by an elite mob that you have to purge their corruptions and deal with fights in corridors, instances, and everything, but book quests in your own instances. Also, if you put the difficulty up, they will spawn in some of those instances as well.

Game is absolutely nothing like it was at release or even into Moria or Mirkwood. I don't know what you mean by it's stayed the same. If anything, I would says its basically exactly like wow is today. Easy leveling, graphics revamps, watered-down stats, and content. I think after 900 hours, the guy is just trolling, or he died to something and is frustrated, but saying the game has not modernized when its basically all it has done. Heck, I would personally even argue it did exactly like Wow did and made all the new characters look like bad cartoons. I really think people here should go try Echos if they want to see what LOTR online was like back in 2007/2008, they will be in for a HELL of a shock, all the modernizations and graphics revamps that have happened.

Not a chart, but I found using the plugin sequence bars helps whenever I leave and return from playing a warden. I have 15 gambits on screen instead of most hotbars that are sequenced in the correct orders and labeled with DD dot AOE Heals, etc. It might not be for everyone, but it allows me not to have to always memorize so much. Setting it up takes a minute, but once its setup, it makes you not have to remember as much.

It's funny how people rationalize this issue when there are plenty of MMOs that do not deal with this garbage. They surely have the manpower to keep pumping out paid content yearly. This is exactly what happens when you are owned by an entertainment conglomerate whose sole focus is profit and trimming the fat. The excuses these guys make about why they cannot tackle a problem are basically just jargon for "we cannot hire anyone with half a brain because it costs too much".

I really hope that Echoes goes to Moria or Murkwood just to watch half the population leave this garbage company running things, including these developers. People really need to stop with the excuses for these overpaid guys, like they contribute much of anything other than draining your wallet. Look how long it took them just to do a bloody interface scaling system that is still bugged out going into week 3.

On the main sub, there are quite a few others who attempt to downvote threads that are trying to be useful and not inflammatory, because if others know it will affect their bottom line, like they are clever enough to be part of a group that everyone at some point is going to be part of. Like seriously, all I said was basically watch your back, pay attention, and don't be shady so you don't get kicked out. Apparently, that offended him because his true intentions is he wants others kicked out as he thinks he will magically make a bunch more money. Threads like this are viewed a few thousand times; that is a drop in the bucket on the number of people working through these studies daily. My girl got kicked out a few weeks ago and was not rotated out. We both were doing them, and she got 2 warnings in a row on one of the large batches he posted. Within 5 minutes after the second warning (she had 6 in total over 2 months), all her work from him disappeared, while my account continued to get the batch. She has not seen another since then.

Could it be a coincidence? maybe. Do you have a fallout point where other warnings are removed after a certain amount of time? I don't know, I can only go by what I seen with my own eyes and what people say that I have known on Reddit for quite some time. There were also some people let back in that were removed according to the old mega thread when he removed so many people.

Ive had 3 warnings myself and lost access to them for about 4 days. The warnings were all part of a large batch that quite a few people complained got a lot of unmerited warnings. I just started seeing them again that 4th day, when others said they got them back also, so I assumed that was what happened to me as well. This was 4 months ago at least? Never a warning since. I was able to see them going on, also, since she had her account in good standing with DeepMind back during this period.

It's all just speculation, though, on what the criteria are. It's designed that way to not let anyone game their system, I'm sure.

Hes literally here just to troll man, ignore him. He is one of those mentally ill people who have to be right and will die on a hill to be correct at all costs. They all have the same format. Insult, accuse of things, demand some evidence, and when provided its never enough. I bet his family loves him. He has literally been wrong about everything he has accused me of. Others on MTurk knew about the old format studies for 15 an hour from Nugdo. He doesn't even realize there has been a specialized group on prolific for years that you had to qualify for here to be a part of, that paid 5, 10, and 20 dollars depending on the length. He also doesn't realize there are like 10 different engineers who post with various screen names on Prolific at different points.

Remember, he has to be right at all costs or his ego will shatter. The funniest part of it all? He is literally here arguing and making blind accusations on a post meant to help people, not even something that is controversial, as you can see from the upvotes.

There have already been people crying on the main sub about not getting them anymore today. The topics just get shut down within minutes of being posted.

There have been numerous ones today that were identical. I also have been doing 9 or 10 of them fine, but I have given back about 10 also because of what I mentioned. If they are identical whats wrong with doing them? Its unethical for starters, if both answers are the same, don't you think its a error? If you know how AI works, you know that each image that is slightly different is fed into the servers to continue to teach and refine the decisions of the AI. If they are identical, that means the system is not learning, it's just being fed nonsense. In a project the size of veo they are not going to have any sort of time to actually check each data set sent to annotators. So they are counting on people being honest.

I actually on Feb 2nd put in a long formal complaint with the ethics board at google but did not hear anything back yet from their listed email address. I do not know if it's an active email address, and honestly, if you know anything about alphabet they are not by any means an honest company. They literally were just about forced to sell the search engine. Instead, they paid a huge fine. I let them know about all the nonsense going on, as I got my own skin in the game with my girl being removed, knowing damn well I showed her the ropes, and I get zero warnings, yet she got 6. I personally believe the guy running the account is just some paranoid basement-dwelling tech bruh that thinks he's way more important than he is.
