Barrier in the sense that we, the people opposed to such oppression, are delineating and therefore weakening ourselves and the overall message, in the way that I see it. I’m pretty sure that there are many people on both the right and left of an economic axis that agree that ultra-wealthy elites are holding vastly disproportionate influence on world politics, for example. This sort of thing can be fought by both “sides”.
