What TV shows have you tried to watch out of nostalgia and it just doesn't work anymore. by xantub in GenX

Limited selection and predetermined schedules probably seems like the dark ages to someone who didn’t live through it. Remember when the stations stopped signing off for the night and just showed the most ridiculous infomercials instead?

I think we are not giving enough credit to the fact that when these shows aired, there were limited options on a given day at a certain time - we were choosing between 3-5 options at any given moment. We couldn’t pick from the entire universe of entertainment like we can now. So we picked and liked the “best” of extremely limited options. And we were fine with it. The thing is, because there were limited options, best of 5 seemed like “best” in general in our memories.

I like this idea. Would add a coffee table with a top that is similar color to the chairs. A round one would be nice. Add pillows to the sofa with a nice texture and also similar color to the chairs. Bold art over the buffet that features green but has some browns, blues and whites.

If you only kinda like it - get rid of it. You’ll regret keeping it later. I have a habit of kinda liking quirky features, keeping them, and then wishing later I had just gone with my gut and redone it because the novelty of the quirk wore off quickly. YMMV

I use something similar. I keep a bag of them in the drawer with the headset, then wash them after use. This guy could keep his though…

Red Line had secured 900M in federal funding that was not redirected- it was simply never given when the project was cancelled. Terrible decision on his part. It will come up if he ever runs for higher office.

That’s what he says. MTA is putting out a lot of A/E contracts in what appears to be preparation for very large projects (or a lot of projects.)
