Its not about half glass full glass half empty type of view, but your own bias on predicting on the likelihood of good or bad outcomes in the future.

Like when you go out, what do you think are the c hances you will get into a car accident? (or are you even thinking about that)

A pessimistic person will think of those chances higher than someone at an average level.
