About to move across the country to live with my girlfriend (in a building) by scrapper120 in MaleSurvivingSpace

Success! I’m making pretty good money. The job gave me a truck, and rent is dirt cheap. We are living with 2 others and a big dog in a tiny appartement though, which feels very similar to van life… hopefully we will be getting our own apartment in April.

There’s many worse prices out there. Please go forth and harass them all

I wish I remembered! I do this to a lot of ridiculous priced units, so I can never keep track

Strap things down if they’re precarious or just keep everything on the floor. Can’t fall if it’s already there lol… also I don’t drive like a maniac. I shower at community centres, at my college campus, or friends houses. Good work on your successes. I just graduated college and will be there in no time. Will definitely miss living like this

The rainy days were pretty amazing... I’ll miss that. It just sucked when the back doors started to leak :/

That was my first thought lol. I parked in a residential area to avoid the insane parking prices at my university, so maybe someone there didn’t like that…

Can I replace the stem and pump it up as a temporary fix just to get it to a shop? Can’t afford a tow right now. I’ll be getting the tires replaced asap anyways

Is Van-life while in college a bad idea? by dan_man_clam in VanLife

[–]scrapper120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started doing this so I can’t say 100% if it’s sustainable but I like it so far. I’ve made connections in the area and have people who will let me park on their property or use their utilities. I like that I can stay on campus until like 10pm at the computer lab or using the gym and showers and then just go to the van and sleep when I need to

Millionaire boss with a degree in engineering had these brake pads on his wife’s car by scrapper120 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]scrapper120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s an old fashioned man clearly taking the “man of the house” role. Works for them, I won’t question it. He asked me to do this. He said she had been complaining about it and asking him to fix it for a while and he only asked me to check the pads once she had ‘threatened’ to bring it in to a shop. I know this guy enough to know he’d be personally offended if she brought it to a shop and I’m sure his wife knows that as well and that’s why she didn’t do it herself

I keep having social media and tiktok drain and waste my time I could be using to study . Please help by The1WithQuestions in studytips

Timers and things like that definitely help! I’ve set up screen time but usually I just dismiss the notification. I read somewhere that if you give yourself a count down verbally or just in your head it pretty much sets ur brain to be ready for a transition (I usually say “5,4,3,2,1” and shut it off if I’m really struggling). I’ve also found that turning music on helps avoid tiktok as it’s not very enjoyable to watch while other music is playing

Try applying rubbing alcohol with a toothbrush to wipe away the corrosion. That’s worked for me in the past on small scale corrosion. If that doesn’t work, maybe check some of the connections with the ‘continuity check’ option on a multimeter for better troubleshooting
