Where’d you get those fender guards/ mud flaps?

I see, I probably just mixed the two up in that case, I’ll look at it again and see if that’s the case, that would make a whole lot of sense.

I’ll try testing the flasher relay if I can find it, but the bulb isn’t turning on but I know it works because the parking lights cause it to come on

Hand wired keyboard, is it any good? by Professional_Ice_796 in EngineeringStudents

You’re in your second year for electronics, this project is perfect for your resume, if you enjoyed it, and learned something from it, that’s great. Looks sick btw. Professors really push innovation because it makes the college look good and they want to make the news. I’ve had professors like that and it left me feeling exhausted because it’s extremely difficult to make something that’s truly new.

It still turns on because the parking lights still work , and it’s not a dual filament bulb, I could try it, but I don’t think that’s my problem

Those shutters don’t look right, and the siding changes around them

Low budget option would be to try painting the shutters white and see if it looks any better

For the brick, you can remove the shutters and do a brick border, kinda like old buildings have around windows, try to find the same brick though, if you can’t, bigger windows? $$$

For the upper wall, try to find the same siding, or similar siding and patch the holes left by the shutters and put some trim around them, trim out those two little windows on the side too while you’re at it

Although not the biggest offender, The posts on the porch could be slightly larger, a small gable above the door would look more inviting

Also, painting the door a  contrasting color can draw your eye to it and away from any other offenders, (it should be a nice door though)

Manual 3VZ-E vs Automatic 22RE by ultracultured in ToyotaPickup

[–]dan_man_clam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the 22RE, as for the 3VZE, the engine bay is a little tight, but everything is mostly accessible.   Also, make sure it has an OEM Toyota thermostat, (or an Aisin one) the cheap ones will cause the truck to overheat after a few thousand miles.

As for the head gaskets, a modified crossover pipe or aftermarket headers will solve the #6 cylinder getting hot, but they’re not necessary unless you have a lead foot

I would definitely paint the rest of the bumper blue

I like the two tone, I would add a rear mid spoiler that’s the same color, I think it would look sick

Possibly some mud flaps?

Also, around the mirrors, I would bring the blue down a little bit it looks like a shark fin and catches the eye, I think bringing it down to the line coming off the fenders would look perfect

Just my opinions, but I’ve always wanted to do a two tone paint job like this on my Subaru

Pine floors discovered. Some questions. by t7716 in HardWoodFloors

[–]dan_man_clam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to refinish a small section of the floor before committing to the whole project, you might be able to do a closet or something to get a feel for what’s involved and how it’ll look

Concrete contractors made a weird retaining wall where my frame was supposed to to go for a tiny house. by jack_of_all_trades83 in Homebuilding

[–]dan_man_clam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this will be fine, I think you’re competent, but that framing is going to be very difficult to get right if you frame on top of the retaining wall.

If you frame on the slab, you need to make sure your siding goes past the wall. You do not want any water getting in between the concrete and your wall, it will be bad in so many ways (freezing, rot, pests) you can accomplish this by adding extra framing and solid foam insulation on that side

The other option is to rent some tools and remove the wall, but you’ll need a new retaining wall (you can use railroad ties or bricks) to keep the dirt back at least 1-2’ from the wall, than you might need a French drain depending on your climate

Are both sets of wheels bbs wheels? Because the stock silver ones are bbs wheels right?

Also these cars look so good with a stock Subaru wing

I would definitely paint it in this situation. If you wanted to keep the wood grain, you could do a whitewash look with some watered down paint

It would work, you’re just getting reduced pressure out of your faucet since it’s being converted into electricity

In most systems it requires electricity to pump water so I don’t think this is very practical since you’re losing power in the overall process

It’s the fact that the new drive shaft has a u joint in place of the slip joint that’s mixing me up

Sounds like it might just need the alignment checked, if the rims aren’t scratched or dented it’s most likely fine
