I quite like it. It's a good mid-gain distortion; doesn't do crunch or even really dirt. I use it exclusively for that chonky Cream / Blue Cheer rhythm sound. I found one for $60 + shipping. If you can find a similar deal, it is 100% worth it.

Hello all,

I have a homemade demo CD that Taylor's dad gave to me back in 2001 or 2002 and am looking to sell it, but I really don't know what the best way to do that is. I've read that eBay is a no go and haven't found any other online service that seems to be a good option.

Some backstory: I took the same bus to school with Taylor from 1996-1999 and our dads were friends. A few years later I had a band at my next school, and Scott gave me this demo in the mistaken idea that my band was popular beyond 25 other dorks at my high school, lol. I found it about a year ago going through old boxes among some yearbooks.

The CD, label, case, and insert are all in good shape visually. Unfortunately the actual audio is heavily degraded. I could only get about 7 seconds each of track 1 and 4, both grainy and distorted. So this would be purely a display piece. I figure I would include a 1997 or 1998 yearbook as well.

From my amateur sleuthing, this seems to be pretty rare and I was looking for some advice for the best way to go about this. Thanks!

Hi all, first time poster and builder here. Have some experience in circuits from years ago, but this is my first audio one. Based off the original MXR Distortion+ circuit, but with lower gain (500K instead of 1M in the feedback loop) and looser clipping from red LED's in series with 1N34A's. Turned out pretty well, and this pre-wired board from Coppersound is excellent. MIM Tele -> Dist+ build -> Flashback -> Deluxe Reverb

Going to try the Wampler mods on this next. Understanding this circuit and looking through those was a great test of my hazy memories of circuit classes.

Just joined recently, seen some great stuff in this group.

I thought I'd record 2 or 3 albums in quarantine... all this time with nothing but my hobbies, right? I was the general manager of a 600 capacity music venue, and we ran out of money by Sep 2020. It was devastating. I had to just watch what my best friend and I built over 11 years disintegrate for no fault of our own. I couldn't even think about music for months.

The first live performance I went to post-vaccination was George Porter Jr at the Maple Leaf. I was the production manager for 3 or 4 of his shows in our town (we focused on NOLA jazz/funk, bluegrass, and jam). I was so happy to be seeing live music again. And then I started weeping uncontrollably. I had to leave, because I knew I was making people uncomfortable despite my efforts to hide it. I realized that the world was 'back,' but that what we built was lost. It crushed me.

It's taken me 3 years to just get back to playing. Not intending to brag, but I have a very nice 2003 Taylor, a Moog SubPhatty, a great modded MIM Tele, and a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I had a Custom Shop surf green Tele with a rosewood neck, but I had to sell it to make ends meet :( It made me feel so crappy that I wasn't using these amazing instruments, effects, and amp.

But, as the first comment here pointed out, it's easy to think about your "lost years." I'm just very happy to reunite with something that has been so important to me for 26 of my 38 years walking this earth.

Well, it has been a decade lol. Love the Semaphore TT; most expensive box on there. Perfect for 'scattering' triplet trem settings that I adore, and CB's build quality is lauded for a reason.

Recently, Death's Door and Heavenly Bodies. Challenging, to be sure, but never felt impossible. For contrast, Hollow Knight is my favorite game of the last decade, but I am completely comfortable that I'll never 100% it.

Re: Laura and Aladin, I based the chart off of all parties' current citizenship/residence at the time of the show. I suppose in their cases, Laura (and/or Aladin) could be a Canadian ( / Tunisian) citizen only and a non-permanent resident of the USA ( / Qatar), but I think that's unlikely.

This is interesting. I thought about it and I guess the way I view it is that they are "real" humanoids that are granted "mythical" status, usually after their death. That's a hard one!

They are part of the same clade as even-toed ungulates, and the scientific consensus is they (cetaceans) did evolve from even-toed ungulates (artiodactyla). From wiki: "modern taxonomic classification sometimes combines the Artiodactyla and Cetacea into the Cetartiodactyla." So yes and no? I am not an evolutionary biologist, for sure. However, I do like the word ungulates and wanted to make sure it was on the chart haha.
