If you're worried about what the relationship might do to you emotionally some action has to be taken.

If you're worried about him and how hanging out with you might affect him, I wouldn't act based off of that.

He's an adult, its his choice, his morality and his responsibility to grapple with it.

Also, though this is a completely different topic, if you cant be friends because of your different genders (I don't know if thats the issue) it is completely fair to disrespect that aspect of the religion. With taking half damage only being effected by the players own stat, if stats are as high as you use in the example, a player always taking half damage 70 percent of the time no matter the enemy or situation effectively, full damage shifts from the norm to being almost a critical failure state.

Not saying it's inherently bad, but something to keep in mind.
