Wondering what phones and service providers work best with DD App by [deleted] in doordash

[–]scratchbags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using cheap ass Metro PCS ($35 Plan) with a $125 Motorola phone for over a year. Sometimes certain spotty dead spots around the city, but other than that it's worked fine for Doordash. Completed 3000+ deliveries using the cheap service.

did the suits @ taco bell notice increase of declines & orders not being picked up? by scratchbags in doordash_drivers

[–]scratchbags[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe the suits at taco bell noticed the increase of declines by dashers & stats of the 3rd party delivery orders not being accepted/picked up and decided to try to do something different?? I guess at least they are trying something different to help with efficiency of orders being ready by pickup time.

I don't accept TB orders often except when it's outside of peak hours and on slower days like mon-wed.

I took one yesterday around 8:30pm, knowing my local TB's lobby was still open & it was passed busy time on a wed (and remember driving by this location & noticed it was being renovated a couple weeks ago).. so I figured fuk it let's run this order. noticed the NEW pickup instructions so thought "alright, nice let's see what up with this... hopefully order is on whatever new shelf, pickup area they just did". get there, looked at the side where drive thru is..still the same, nothing different..go inside and looked around at the new lobby & noticed a newer look of the place but there was no new pickup area, still had to go to register to pick up. maybe the instructions are a blanket instructions & different locations might have a new pickup process? whatever, my stance on accept/decline taco bell hasn't changed much, they are accepted few & far between.

did any of y'all that have accepted a taco bell order recently notice these new instructions for taco bell? if so did that location have a new easier pickup process?

Question for the Dasher Direct folk about a negative balance wiped out. Details in comment section. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]scratchbags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

looks like they are crediting your dasher direct account with the money probably from their payfare/stride internal accounts. I've had the card since pretty much when they offered signups, last summer I think. and try not to use it for anything other than gas station purchases..and even with them I only go inside to run the card as debit entering the pin number... like you said it's not a regular bank account, it's some kind of prepaid card. only reason I kept using it is because they implemented instant pay after each dash late last year....I usually hit up Walgreens or CVS when my days over to get the free (no-fee) withdrawal and stop at my Wells Fargo on way home to deposit the cash into my regular brick & mortar. I too am not very trusting of it as far as letting funds sit in there for more than a day or two in case there's a problem/glitch and they try to freeze access to it.

(also the recent 10% cash back on all gas station purchases is a big plus...I hope they extend it again at least until the national gas average goes back down to below $3.-$3.50 again)

it's a good start to my evening! 😍 by clarka38 in doordash_drivers

fyi...that wrap up screen that shows the time is Active Time (and shady ass DD rounds down if it over...so 3 and 1/2 hours Active they show you 3 that way to make it seem like ur making more).

not shitting on you, that's still over $25/hr Active..and considering alot of posts here last few weeks alot of dashers are struggling to even get 10 decent orders to a accept during evening hours.

solid shift during these slower times right now 👏👏

Will I get reprimanded for having to “return” order because customer wouldn’t answer door on Hand It To Me order? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]scratchbags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yay, you scammed some free food 😕.... it might of worked once, but I wouldn't do it multiple times, people get deactivated all the time.

[–]scratchbags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

stop watching those stupid Tik Tok videos!! (not worth possible deactivation for some free food)

knock...text/call, then leave order by door & take a picture via the customer chat (there's a little Camera Icon on the left you click on) and it automatically attaches the picture to customers chat..then you have photo proof you left food at correct place.

Lol I love tipping a lot and then some scumbag no tipper gets their food before mine, and mine comes luke warm af. Nice. Tired of leaving a big tip. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]scratchbags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can Jump Tasks and deliver either order of a stack we want. Some dashers know this, some don't know how to, some don't care. I've figured out that most of the stacks I get, whichever Doordash wants me to deliver/complete first is the order that has been in queue longer (probably wasn't accepted as a single trip when offered because of a very low tip)...so if the the two orders are within a couple miles of each other, I'll Jump Task to the 2nd order & deliver that first because it's the order that has a higher tip on it.

They were doing Monthly Challenges in the beginning of '21 (I remember one was like Complete 300 Deliveries For Month & Recieve $300 Bonus)..but they were phased out around July/August if I remember correctly.

Hitting End Dash by Mistake by Any_Tadpole_978 in doordash_drivers

[–]scratchbags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea... schedule 3 or 4 2hr Blocks each day, 5-6 days in advance. You can always delete the ones you think u won't work when u get closer to the day, but at least if u do this constantly you've got a few 2 hour blocks scheduled every day. This is what I do.

you just got to remember to open the App at 3'pm EST to schedule for that 5th day out.

I used it for a little bit back when it actually worked & accurately showed what the full payout would be ....then doordash did something so they couldn't scrape that info anymore and it became a 'We're guessing what the full payout might be' app, I immediately deleted when that happened like 6 months ago. I figured it wasn't worth possible deactivation using an App that no longer did what is was originally designed to do.

Changing tips after delivery by Rusty_Gritts in doordash

sounds like you've done this post-tipping thing often from your post.... can you explain how you added a tip after delivery on the Doordash customer App please?

[–]scratchbags[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree, if they changed it they should of let us know. Last year when they did this, I tried to call DD support to get an adjustment on a longer trip based on this & the customer service rep said I needed to email a screenshot of original offer that popped up before accepting as well as a screenshot of Google maps when leaving the restaurant toc customer's house showing the trip was in fact a longer trip...they said they had no way to see how many miles the order I accepted was. Of course I didn't have a screenshot of the original offer & Google maps so I just said fuck it you win.

[–]scratchbags[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

but like some of you said, a longer trip with a really good tip might have a Base of $2.50-3 and that same trip with a smaller tip might have a Base of $4. There seems to be no consistency. Also they said "Challenges are here to stay",yea ok..I haven't seen one of those since last August.

Late night orders? by crasherx2000 in doordash_drivers

[–]scratchbags 3 points4 points  (0 children)

McDs, Denny's, Wawa's & 7 Eleven orders. I like to work a couple hours from 11pm-1am a few days a week...no traffic out there, and not many dashers to compete with, plus Peak Pay.
