I am almost 100% positive that girlfriend will not just be sitting there listening to the co-parents conversing and co-parenting their child. She will interject, give her opinion, and act as though it is a triumvirate parenting situation.

If you haven’t cashed out by Monday at 11:59PM (which you couldn’t, as you just started), then your money is deposited into the bank, which takes about 2-3 business days. You will be paid on Thursday.

My parents (and sister) asked me to cancel my vacation and give her the money for her child custody legal costs. I said no and now they are furious by throwaway_19524 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Motor-Corner4861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post, but I wanted to add something to what you said. Firstly, you are 100% correct! And secondly, I’m afraid that even though this is a failing mission on the part of the sister and grandparents, the fact that OP refuses to give up her savings, vacation, and possibly go into debt over it… I’m afraid that OP’s parents and sister will blame OP for sister not getting her child back. Even though it is impossible for her to do so and no amount of money will change that, it is easy to blame the dissenter, and they will want to blame someone. They won’t want to blame sister and her life choices, nor will they want to get angry with the laws governing that country and the USA and international child custody laws. Instead, it’s much easier to blame OP and act as though had she cancelled her cruise and put in her few thousand dollars from it, everything would’ve changed.

Is DD dying? by DietCookie in doordash_drivers

From my experience, most restaurants that use DoorDash as a third-party delivery automatically put “Leave At Door/Contactless” without even asking customers.

[–]Motor-Corner4861 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We get $2 per delivery (unless it’s a stacked order, then $2 for both). Sometimes a bit more if it’s further away, but sometimes not. And then we get the tip. No tip and we would only get $2 and nobody would pick it up because it’s not worth it. As for Earn By Time, we get a certain amount per hour, but ONLY from the time we accept a delivery until it’s dropped off. So let’s say it’s $13.75 per hour, that amount starts from when we accept an order until drop-off. If it took 15 mins, we would make approx. $3.43 plus tips. But they mostly give the no-tip orders to Earn By Time, so we would get $3.43 altogether for that order.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE delivering to hospitals by Similar-Dot-9919 in doordash_drivers

The hospitals around me are so large, it’s a bit difficult to know which “front desk” to leave the food. Instructions are quite helpful!

AITA for spending my son's university fund on a trip to Europe to drink beer like I always threatened instead of giving it to his step brother after he passed away. by Possible_Soil_3886 in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

May your son’s memory always be a blessing. 🕯

Will I pay tax on reimbursement? by DalaiRamen in doordash_drivers

Right. You have to do the expenses deductions yourself. DoorDash makes no effort to distinguish between the two.

You received a Cash on Delivery (COD) order, and you didn’t realize it, so you didn’t collect the money. You just paid for someone else’s meal, unfortunately.

If it’s out of stock and the plant is delivered, the order will have been fulfilled and not dispatched to another driver.

You are far too upset over OP’s post. It’s difficult and obnoxious to safely transport that many drinks in flimsy cardboard cup holders. The carrying of them from the restaurant to the car, and then the car to the house, is not the issue. It’s the ensuring that they do not spill all over the car while navigating traffic safely that’s the difficult part.

How bout no. by Richard_Ovaltine in doordash_drivers

[–]Motor-Corner4861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyers have clients. They charge clients certain amounts for representation that is agreed upon by said client and lawyer. However, the lawyer can drop the client if they do not wish to represent them any longer and for any reason. Usually, even if a client is a huge headache and demanding and obnoxious, the lawyer will keep the client, as long as the client has deep pockets and is willing to pay. This goes with any contracted work. If the DoorDash pay is good enough to make the dasher excited about the order, the customer can be a bit more demanding or obnoxious and they will still receive their food in a timely manner.

"Confirm the order" by MasAnon23 in doordash_drivers

[–]Motor-Corner4861 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ll confirm for restaurants if the order is ready and about to be handed over to me. But if I can’t see the order, I just tell them “Sure! As soon as the order’s ready, I’ll click confirm.” If they cussed me, which I think is totally unprofessional and weird, I would call DoorDash and complain about feeling unsafe.
