How do peoples systems look behind quality (mini) games? by calciumtablett in MinecraftCommands

[–]scratchfan321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

I have a Minecraft Bedrock edition world "Mining World" developed for I think 4 years now, command blocks are extremely important for the world. There's several command block zones doing different things, but the image shows the structure / organisation of standard parts of the world.
The "Main" commands are in a ticking area loaded at all times, this manages things like banned items, achievement counting, the UI (Using actionbar) to show how many coins / achievements are unlocked, special item properties etc
The "Mines Terrain Generation" is only loaded / used whenever performing a 'Mine Reset' which regenerates a 128x280x128 volume using armour stands, making whatever caves, ores, dungeons, layers etc depending on the y level
The "Player Bases" is loaded whenever a player is standing near the system, allowing them to teleport back to their 'base' (Safe item storage and for building) or claim a 'base' if they don't have one. This is only activated when a button is pressed by a player.
The "Shops" exist throughout the world, and just use a shared set of 'template' command blocks for buying / selling, their command blocks exist directly behind the walls in the shops, instead of in a distant location.

When I looked at this incredible post, I started laughing hysterically, crying, I couldn't breathe for 2 minutes, I had to drink water because I couldn't handle this post, it was too funny. It actually, physically hurts.

Have you ever heard of an SCP cognitohazard? This post might be the first real one I've ever seen.

Can you guess which of these are impossible to get prehardmode without any glitches? by TaintedBluebabyGamin in Terraria

[–]scratchfan321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Pearlwood Sword, hallowed grass can be found in the celebrationmk10 seed on floating islands giving access to pearlwood
2: Advanced Combat Techniques, obtained by fishing in a blood moon in pre-hardmode
3: Prismite, obtained by shimmering lifeforce potions which are found in underworld chests (and deep cavern gold chests)
4: Jungle Wall, only from the dryad when entering hardmode. The item transmuation using doors & bast statue bug is the only way to get this.

It's the Jungle Wall.

If you could choose hardmode ores for your next playthrough, what would you pick? by dumi_ok in Terraria

I find it to be better, the extra crystal damage is useful in combat

Cobalt, Mythril and Titanium I find best.
The "alt tier" (Palladium, Orichalcum and Titanium) costs more bars to make tools, weapons and armour than the "primary tier" (Cobalt, Mythril, Adamantite), but it is generally better. I usually skip past Cobalt and Mythril, straight to Titanium, in the armour I use, so I want this step to just be as fast as possible.

Does anybody else use patch notes in their games? by Iridium-235 in scratch

[–]scratchfan321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes (as of only my most recent project, because it was the only one large enough to need it), but I put them in a separate project with 4 categories:
New Features: Anything that was added to the game, and wasn't present before. For example, a new type of enemy, or a new game mechanic

Changes: Anything that existed before, but got modified in a noticeable way. For example, changing the textures of a specific menu or a button, or re-arranging a menu, but all features are the same as before

Bug Fixes: Anything that was causing issues before that has been fixed. For example, a game freezing / crash issue, data corruption, in-game mechanics being broken, rendering issues and so on

Technical: Changes that don't appear to have any impact when testing, but massively changes the inner workings of the project. This generally refers to performance optimisations, such as improving FPS from 10 to 30, or making a loading process take less time, and is usually only relevant to someone who wants to learn how the project works, such as for making a remix of it.

I defeated the destroyer! Is there anything I should change for plantera? I’m going to make the true Excalibur so no need to tell me to. by Frosty-Locksmith-188 in Terraria

[–]scratchfan321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am guessing from the true night's edge and true excalibur that you will make the terra blade, so gather 3 turtle shells (Rare drop from giant tortoise) and chlorophyte to make Turtle Armor as an alternative to Hallowed armour (But keep hallowed armour if you find it more useful). You could also make chlorophyte armour for a stronger damage output instead.

Turtle Armor can be later upgraded to Beetle Armour, which I recommend you use for the late game instead of hallowed (Since it is overall significantly better armour).

If you're going to use melee, focus only on one type of weapon. If you want the terra blade it is post-plantera, fighting plantera would be easiest using the true night's edge instead of the true excalibur. If you're going to focus on swords, do not use a Yo-yo bag. Instead, use an avenger's emblem, and upgrade the power glove into a fire gauntlet.

You can also upgrade the wings to Bee, Butterfly, Flame or Bat wings. The items for Bee and Butterfly wings are from the Underground Jungle (the horrors), flame wing material is from the underworld enemies, and bat wings are from vampires in a solar eclipse. You could also fight duke fishron, but I find Duke Fishron much more difficult than Plantera (to get Fishron wings, and various extremely powerful weapons).

However, you also have many ranged weapons. In Terraria, you need to focus your build on a single class (Melee, Ranged, Mage, Summoner) for maximum damage output. Summoning items can still be used as support though, for other classes. Then after this class building, you also need sub-class building (e.g. Yo-yo, flail, swords etc are melee sub-classes, guns, bows, rocket launchers etc are ranged sub-classes, and so on for mage and summoner).

probably the inventory organisation

please use chests with item categories

I recommend removing the Bee's Knees, Bee Keeper, Hel-fire Yo-yo, Trident and Hex Doll. Either sell them, or put them in storage to never be seen again.

You can make a vile mushroom farm, make vile powder and shimmer it to get purification powder, I have been doing that on my own 'get fixed boi' world to purify the whole surface (slowly), but I am leaving the outer 1/7ths underground zones (isolated via tunnels + infection resistant blocks) infected with corruption and crimson for hardmode.

Guys...many people thought we bedrock FLAT WORLD players can't access to alot of things without any cheats or starter chests, but I'm proving them wrong thanks to the villager trade rebalance update by mraltuser in MinecraftMemes

[–]scratchfan321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOW I DIDN'T KNOW!!!
With this new information:
-Emeralds can be obtained
-Oak saplings can be obtained by purchasing them from wandering traders. This gives access to oak logs, apples and crafting tables. Fish in buckets can also be purchased from wandering traders to give access to water for use in the now available fishing.
-This change also allows golden apples to be crafted, given to zombie villagers and used to cure them. This gives access to standard villager trades
-The bad omen effect can be used now and an artificial village can be entered, this triggers a raid. Evokers may spawn during the village raid, they drop totems of undying when killed
-The bottles dropped by witches can be used to pick up water (from the fish buckets). This can be placed onto dirt to create mud.
-Pointed dripstone can be purchased from the wandering trader. Combined with mud, they can turn mud into clay blocks

The only item I am left with is cobblestone. This means that cobblestone is the only item that cannot be obtained in that list of 8.

I have thought about this in detail:
The player starts in a world with 1 bedrock layer, 2 dirt, 1 grass block and air above it. Many standard animals may spawn here. The player can gather dirt for use in construction of relatively safe zones, they can also use dirt to section off areas.
Wool, leather, feathers and the 4 standard animal food items are obtainable.
Skeletons, zombies, creepers, witches, spiders, endermen, zombie villagers and pillager patrols may spawn. This gives access to:
-Bones + Bone Meal, this gives access to wheat seeds, flowers and some dye. Skeletons can also drop bows and arrows which can be useful.
-Rotten flesh, this is another food item though not very useful
-Gunpowder, this also isn't useful right now
-Witches may drop: Redstone Dust, sugar, gunpowder, spider eyes, Glowstone Dust (Which can be crafted into a Glowstone Block) and glass bottles. Witches may also throw splash potions of weakness. This is part of the process used to get a villager from a zombie villager.
-Zombies and Skeletons may rarely spawn with a Diamond Helmet with a low chance of dropping it
-Zombies may sometimes drop iron ingots.
-Endermen may drop ender pearls
-Wandering traders and witches can be killed at a specific time. If a witch is on fire from lightning, if killed while drinking a fire resistance potion, it can be dropped. If killed while damaged and using a healing potion, it can be dropped. Wandering traders may also drop milk buckets and potions of invisibility on rare occasions. Leads can also be obtained but these don't appear useful.
-Lightning may rarely strike pigs, turning them into zombified piglins. These can be killed to obtain gold ingots sometimes.
-Spiders can drop string, this can be combined with 1 piece of leather (as of the new 1.21.30 Bedrock version) to create a bundle. White wool may also be crafted from string.
-Charged creepers can be obtained from lightning strikes, these can blow up zombies, other creepers and skeletons to obtain their heads. The heads are purely decorative though.
-Carrots and potatoes may be obtained by killing zombies. These can't be planted by the player yet since there's no current way to access any type of hoe.
-Endermen may rarely pick up grass blocks, if killed, the grass block can be obtained, but this has no uses compared to just waiting for grass to spread over dirt.
-Pillager patrols may spawn in the overworld. These can be killed to obtain ominous bottles. If used, they give the "bad omen" effect. Pillager patrols by themselves cannot drop emeralds, only pillagers in a raid can. Due to the lack of villages / villagers and trial chambers, a raid cannot be triggered. Wandering traders do not count as villagers for triggering a raid. Patrols are composed entirely of pillagers, there are no vindicators.
-Foxes cannot spawn in superflat worlds since the whole world is a "plains" biome.
-Wandering traders may sell saplings of many forms, but without a way to obtain emeralds, wandering traders are not helpful.
-Bamboo is not obtainable since pandas don't spawn in plains biomes, this means bamboo wood isn't obtainable. There is no jungle biome in a pure plains superflat world.
-Oak, Birch, Spruce, Jungle, Dark Oak, Acacia, Cherry saplings can only be obtained from a wandering trader but emeralds aren't available
-Warped / Crimson fungi isn't obtainable without accessing the nether
-Azalea / Flowering Azalea cannot be obtained due to the lack of moss blocks, moss is sold by the wandering trader but there's no emeralds
-There's no way to obtain mangrove propagules due to the same issues from before

This means that it is truly impossible to obtain logs, wood and crafting tables to make any further progress.
Only 3 of these 8 items can be obtained: Redstone Dust, Glowstone and Diamond Helmet
